LCYO general meeting today
Kohima, December 18 (MExN): The Lower Chandmari Youth Organisation (LCYO) has convened a general meeting on December 19, 3:00 pm at St Joseph's School premises. Sehmin Sitlhou, Information Secretary, LCYO in a press release has requested all the members to attend positively.
Dedication of TBC new Church building
Kohima, December 18 (MExN): The new Church building of Thüvopisii Baptist Church (TBC) will be dedicated on December 21 at 11:00 am. It will be dedicated by Reverend Khrotso Mero, executive secretary, Chakhesang Baptist Church Council. Greeting will be shared by Vekusa Lohe, chairman, Chozuba Area Baptist Church Council.
INTCWS celebrates Pre-Christmas
Dimapur, December 18 (MExN): India Northeast Tribal Community Welfare Society (INTCWS), Notun Bosti, Dimapur under its Education Wing, Libra Consultancy celebrated Pre-Christmas at its office on December 16. A short programme was held where God’s blessing was invoked by its member Hitol Swu, said a press release from Honsangsonla, Director Women &Youth INTCWS. The society Chairman thanked the members for their tireless services and sacrifices made by all and also encouraged them to continue the good work in the coming years for uplifting the tribal people especially in creating awareness and counseling students towards achieving quality education.
PTCSU elects new team
Kohima, December 18 (MExN): The Phek Town Chakhesang Students’ Union (PTCSU) has elected its new team of office bearers during its general session on December 13 last at Phek Town Hall for the tenure 2020-2022. Surhoveyi Khesoh and Nukhozo Chizo were elected as president and general secretary respectively along with others. Sekukho Tetseo has been elected as speaker while Vechihu Khamo and Khruzota Vadeo were inducted to representative to Chakhesang Students’ Union.
AR apprehends 3 NSCN (R) cadres
Dimapur, December 18 (MExN): Assam Rifles apprehended three cadres of NSCN(R) from general area, Padam Pukhuri while carrying out extortion on December 16. As per a press release received her, based on specific intelligence, troops of Assam Rifles launched an operation and apprehended three NSCN(R) cadres – Captain Totakto Awomi, (29 years), resident of Zunheboto; Sergeant Hukavi Aye, (32 years), Atoizu, Zunheboto and 2nd Lt Khetoka Choppy, (32 years), resident of Suruhoto, Zunheboto. The apprehendees along with recovered extortion slips and Rs 7000 (Rupees seven thousand only) were handed over to East Police Station for further investigation.
Mon DPDB discusses upgradation of schools
Mon, December 18 (MExN): The monthly Mon District Planning and Development Board meeting was held on December 16 at DC’s Office Conference Hall under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mon, Hiazu Meru. Agendas discussed included upgradation of Government Primary School Aopao Village to Government Middle School to run with Class VI from next year, upgradation of Government Primary School Chingkho Chingnyu (A) to run with Class V from next year. The house approved and recommended to the higher authority for consideration and necessary action. Department of Fisheries and Wangkhao Government College presented their activities and needs in the DPDB meeting.
Razoulhouü Vizol laid to rest
Kohima, December 18 (MExN): Razoulhouü Vizol, wife of late Vizol, two time chief minister and former member of Rajya Sabha passed away on December 13 at her residence Daklane, Kohima. According to a DIPR report, late Razoulhouü Vizol was born on May 14, 1919 and died on December 13, 2019. She was the fifth daughter of Chüpfü-o Sekhose and Vilhouü Sekhose. Late Razoulhouü attended Barbeta British Mission Hospital Jorhat for nursing training. She was the founding member of Japfüphiki Baptist Women Association and served as the first President in 1947. Razoulhouü married Vizol on March 28, 1948. Her descendants include seven children, 32 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Dr. Atha Vizol, former State Commissioner of Disabilities, Government of Nagaland spoke on behalf of the family. Akhale Vizol, Director of Tourism, expressed gratitude to those who cared and mourned her mother till her last journey.The mortal remains of Late Razoulhouü Vizol has taken to Viswema and laid to rest in the family cemetery.
WYH, USLP mourn demise of Torechu
Dimapur, December 18 (MExN): The Western Yimchunger Hoho (WYH) has expressed deep pain over the demise of T Torechu, MLA of 60 Pungro–Kiphire A/C on December 16 from Referral Hospital, Dimapur. Torechu was a man with humble nature who was dedicated for the people and the welfare of the society, a condolence message from its Information & Publicity Secretary, Lakiu Kips said. The WYH conveyed its deepest condolences to the family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
The United Sangtam Likhum Pumji (USLP) also expressed deep anguish at the demise. USLP in a condolence message from its President Seopi Sangtam said Torechu was an articulate leader who made a lasting contribution to the district of Kiphire and his demise will be felt deeply by the people of Kiphire. During his political career, he held multiple position and responsibility which enabled him to contribute towards the progress and development of Kiphire district as a whole, the message added. USLP conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that “the Almighty grant solace and fortitude” at this time of grief to the family and for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
AR conducts lecture at ARPS Jalukie
Peren, December 18 (MExN): Assam Rifles Battalion in collaboration with Childline 1098 Peren under the aegis of IGAR (N) conducted a lecture on “Good touch and bad touch” at ARPS, Jalukie for the students on December 18. A total of 123 students attended the lecture. The aim of the lecture was to make the children aware about child safety. Students of class 4 to 10 attended the lecture, where they were made aware about the “no touch areas, understand who are safe adults and how to communicate to parents about any bad experience.” The workshop also highlighted how to handle a bad touch by shouting 'No', running away from the person and informing a safe adult about the same. Pamphlets were distributed by the team of Childline 1098 Peren.
