23 BJP members join NPP
Mokokchung, January 13 (MExN): 23 members of BJP from Mokokchung district division and 27th Mokokchung Town A/C have resigned from the active and primary membership of the party and joined the National People’s Party (NPP) under the leadership of NPP national president, Conrad K Sangma, MP Lok Sabha, and NPP Nagaland State president, Ato Yepthomi. This was informed in a declaration of the resigned workers released to the media.
DC Mon informs Primary Schools
Mon, January 13 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner of Mon, Thavaseelan K (IAS) has informed the Primary Schools in the district to collect the audio visual educational material from the Development Branch during office hours starting from Monday, January 15, 2018. The audio visual content, which is expected to be of assistance to teachers in effective pedagogy, was procured by the office of DC Mon for the primary students in the district, said a press release received here. The content may be displayed to students using computers/laptops and wherever one such is not available, mobile phones could be used, it added. As for mobile phones based audio visual classes ‘USB memory adapter’ will be provided on ‘demand basis’, the DC added. He further informed that the content for English, Mathematics and Environmental Science for classes 1–4 will be available free of cost and same can be collected from the Development Branch, office of Deputy Commissioner, Mon.
Nagaland Prayer Convention
Kohima, January 13 (MExN): Nagaland Prayer Centre Tsiemekhuma under Botsa will host its first Nagaland Prayer Convention from February 2 to 4 under the theme ‘Receive the Holy spirit’ (John 20:22). Rev. Vizotuo Kiewhuo and Rev. Neivotso Niekha will be the speakers. A press release from Pastor Pfusovi Metha has welcomed believers to “come and be blessed by praying for the peace, forgiveness and blessing of the Nagas.” He further informed that healing cum deliverance service will also be held.
Retired IAS officer joins NDPP
Dimapur, January 13 (MExN): Mhathung Kithan, IAS 1986 Haryana cadre, joined Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) on January 13 at the party’s office in Chumukedima, Dimapur. “His joining the party is an immense boost to the party with his vast working experience, as he had served in various capacities till his retirement from Government service in January 2014,” stated a press release from Media & Communications Committee of NDPP. He is currently appointed as Senior Vice President of the party.
APO annual general meeting
Kohima, January 13 (MExN): The Angami Public Organisation (APO) has convened its annual general meeting (Houzha) on January 16, 11:00 am at APO Hall, Kohima. Induction of the new APO office bearers for 2018-2020 will be held on the day, informed a press release from the organisation. All the four units (SAPO, WAPO, NAPO, CPO) have been requested to attend the meeting with a minimum of 120 delegates each without fail. The Village Council Chairmen and their executive members, VDB Secretaries and GBs of all the Angami villages were also requested to attend the meeting without fail. APO requested each and every individual attending the meeting to come with a touch of Angami traditional attire or dress.
