APO supports dialogue between GoI and Naga political groups
Kohima, January 27 (MExN): The Angami Public Organisation (APO) has resolved to “fully support the ongoing dialogue between the Government of India and the different Naga political groups to come out with an honourable solution acceptable to all Nagas.” This resolution was made at the first APO governing body meeting for the tenure 2018-2020 held on January 25, according to a press release from APO president, Dr. Kepelhusie Terhüja and information & publicity secretary, Neithono Sothu.
Dr. T. Ao’s 100th birth anniversary to be commemorated
Kohima, January 27 (MExN): The 100th birth anniversary of Dr. Talimeren Ao, popularly known as Dr. T. Ao, who was the first Naga Olympian and the captain of the Indian football team in the London Olympics 1948, will be commemorated at Raj Bhavan, Kohima on January 28 at 2:00 pm. Governor of Nagaland PB Acharya will be the chief guest at the function. Highlights of the programme include screening of a documentary on Dr. T. Ao, unveiling of his portrait by the chief guest and speeches by Er. Lanu Toy and Dr. T. Ao’s family members, among others. A commemorative stamp will also be unveiled by the Governor on the same evening, simultaneously with neighbouring state Assam.
NDPP informs aspiring candidates
Dimapur, January 27 (MExN): All the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) aspiring candidates have been informed that the submission of party ticket application will be closed on January 31 at 3:00 pm. All the aspiring candidates are to submit the form to the party head office on the fixed date and time for issue of party ticket, stated a press release from NDPP secretary general, Abu Metha and general secretary, Obed Quinker.
Imtiwabang joins NCP
Dimapur, January 27 (MExN): S. Imtiwabang Jamir, Secretary of Indian National Congress (INC) Nagaland and ex-INC candidate from 21 Tuli A/C has resigned from the active membership of INC and joined the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), a press release received here informed.
Prasielie Pienyü joins NDPP
Dimapur, January 27 (MExN): Prasielie Pienyü resigned as the vice president of Nagaland Congress (State level) and joined NDPP at the party’s head office in Chumukedima on January 27.
Lotha Rengma contractors’ meet
Wokha, January 27 (MExN): The Lotha Rengma Contractors Association has convened an emergency meeting on January 30 at Rengma Hoho office in Tseminyu at 10:00 am. “The Company Engineers are pressing us to start the work at the earliest.
