Model code of conduct in
operation in Kohima


KOHIMA, MARCH 6 (MExN): With the announcement of schedule for election to Lok Sabha by the Election Commission of India, Deputy Commissioner & Assistant Returning Officer, Kohima, W Honje Konyak has stated that the Model Code of Conduct for the guidance of political parties has come into force in the district. The DC has informed all the political parties, candidates, officers, organizations, and the public to observe the provisions of the Model Code of Conduct and also to restrain from indulging in activities that violate the code. Sentiyanger Imchen, IAS, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Nagaland, on Wednesday, had expressed optimism that the polls in Nagaland state would be held in a free and fair manner and that there would be no untoward or violent incidents.

Churches urged to pray
for ACAUT Nagaland


DIMAPUR, MARCH 6 (MExN): The Action Committee against Unabated Taxation Nagaland has once again appealed to all the churches in Nagaland, irrespective of denominations, to pray for the committee on March 9, Sunday. A press note from the ACAUT Nagaland requested the NBCC, CAN (Catholic Association of Nagaland) and all the organizational heads of NCRC (Nagaland Christian Revival Church), Pentecostals, Assembly of God and other Charismatic churches, etc., to dedicate this coming Sunday as a prayer day for the ACAUT movement. The organizations have also been requested to reach out to the respective churches under their wings and apprise them of the same. ACAUT Nagaland further informed that it started its membership-cum-issuance of identity card drive from Tetso College, Dimapur, when the former was invited by the college to speak on the ACAUT movement on February 26. This membership drive shall be undertaken all over Nagaland in due course of time, it stated. SAKK condemns hit and run incident

Kohima, March 6 (MExN): Pughoboto Area Students’ Union (SAKK) has strongly condemned the hit and run incident on February 25 due to negligent driving of a Kohima Mini Bus driver at Keziekie Colony Kohima near Tata Mobile Parking. It may be noted that a 13 year old boy, Vikugha Sheqi, a class VIII student of NagaBazar Baptist English School Kohima was seriously injured at around 5:30 pm in the incident. The victim was admitted to Oking Hospital, Kohima and is reported to have undergone an operation for internal injuries. A press note from the SAAK informed that the bus driver is still absconding and appealed for the Mini Bus Union and Police authority to look into the matter.

NNC/FGN inducts regional authorities

Dimapur, March 6 (MExN): In exercise of the provisions in the Yehzabo of Nagaland, Brig. (Retd) S. Singnya, Kedahge, Federal Government of Nagaland has inducted two new Deputy Kilonsers into his ministry. New Regional Midan Peyu including Mhathung Ovung, Lotha Region; K. Kehoto, Yimchunger Region, and Phongpa Konyak, Konyak Region were also appointed and administered to them an "Oath Of Office And Secrecy" on the 62nd Tatar Hoho (2014). Besides the seven regional authorities, others from different regions have been elevated to the rank of TATAR into the National Assembly. This was informed in a press release issued by G. Zhimomi Secretary, Tatar Hoho/National Assembly & Secretary, Ministry of Rali Wali (MIP) NNC/FGN.
