Hukavi accuses DAN III
Kohima, March 21 (MExN): Congress MLA Hukavi today stated that DAN III started without work programme and termed it as a “serious matter.” Participating in the debate on the motion of thanks to the Governor’s Address in the ongoing assembly session here today, he alleged that there is full of corruption and no equality. “We have social unrest, political unrest, economic unrest, development unrest,” he said. He stated that developments are not visible for which people are suffering day by day. This government, he said, is not in position to solve the problem.
ZVYSO resolves to uphold ban on hunting, burning of jungles
Kohima, March 21 (MExN): The new office bearers of Zhadima Village Youth & Sports Organization (ZVYSO) for the tenure 2014-16 headed by President Vitseizolie Soru and General Secretary Thepfulie Theunuo has unanimously resolved to uphold the directives of the Angami Youth Organization (AYO) and Northern Angami Youth Organization (NAYO) to strictly ban hunting, burning of jungles, extraction of medicinal plants, deforestation and other related activities leading to destruction and deterioration of the ecosystem within the jurisdiction of Zhadima village. The Organization in a press release informed that it will hereafter serve no information regarding these directives and any person found violating the above directives will be punitively punished and penalized befittingly.
PPRI Kalyan Benerjee to visit Kohima
Kohima, March 21 (DIPR): Rtn. Kalyan Benerjee, Past President Rotary International (PPRI) will be on an official visit to Kohima on March 22 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The visit is in connection with the Rotary Project on Education and Literacy which is a countrywide programme. He will be meeting the Governor of Nagaland and appointment with the Chief Minister and Minister for Education are awaited. The project will be carried out in partnership with State Government and community organisations. He will also be interacting with the public at 3:00 pm at the Heritage Hall. Therefore, educationists, community leaders, students, women organisation are invited to the interactive session. He will be accompanied by Past District Governor Rtn. Kalpan Khound, Present District Governor 3240, Rtn. Arijit Endow and other dignitaries which include PDG Ajit Irom, PDG Kirti Dey, AG Chandu, AG Pramod Jain, PAG Rtn. Panesar.
CBCC pastors’ training
Dimapur, March 21 (MExN): The Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (CBCC) pastors’ training will be held from March 25 to 27, 2014 (Tuesday – Thursday) at Chakhesang Baptist Church Diphupar ‘B’, 5th Mile Dimapur. The CBCC Pastors’ Fellowship president further informed all concerned that one of its members’ ordination service will be held on the first day, i.e. March 25 at 1:00 pm.
KDCC adopts resolutions
Kohima, March 21 (MExN): Kohima District Congress Committee (KDCC) held a meeting on March 21 at Congress Bhavan and adopted several resolutions. In order to have a better coordination for the forthcoming Lok Sabha Election, the house appointed planning committee and fund mobilization committee consisting of three members each. The meeting also resolved to distribute the booklet “11 years of NPF misrule in Nagaland under Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio” to every household, offices and colleges. The house also requested the right thinking citizens to extend cooperation and attend the proposed election rally to be addressed by AICC vice president Rahul Gandhi in Kohima. The meeting also resolved to work with dedication and commitment for the sure success of KV Pusa, Congress candidate and appealed to all the right thinking citizens to rise above party colour and vote for Congress party for a better change in Nagaland.
Dimapur polling officers’ training today
Dimapur, March 21 (MExN): In connection with the ensuing Lok Sabha Elections 2014, training for the 2nd Polling Officers and 3rd Polling Officers of Dimapur district will be held on March 22 from 11:00 am at Dimapur Government College. Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer, N Hushili Sema has directed all concerned to attend the training without fail.
Training schedule for Mokokchung polling officials
Mokokchung, March 21 (DIPR): DC and Assistant Returning Officer, Mokokchung, Murohu Chotso has informed that training of 2nd and 3rd polling officers of Mokokchung district will be held at Mayangnokcha Government Higher Secondary School on March 24, while Presiding Officers and 1st Polling officers will be on March 25 at Town Hall, Mokokchung. He said training will be conducted from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. The last and final training for all polling officials including IV Grade staff is scheduled on April 7, 2014. The DC directed all polling personnel to attend the training as per the schedule, failing which, disciplinary action will be initiated.
W. Wangyuh files nomination as INC stand-by candidate
Kohima, March 21 (DIPR): W. Wangyuh filed his nomination as stand-by candidate of the INC for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections at the Office of the Returning Officer, Nagaland Parliamentary Elections 2014, Temjen Toy, IAS, on March 21. W. Wangyuh's nomination was proposed by Asu Keyho.
Zunheboto medical board to sit on March 25
ZUNHEBOTO, March 21 (DIPR): Deputy Commissioner and ARO, Zunheboto, L. Akato Sema in a notification has informed that in view of the ensuing 16th Lok Sabha election, the Medical Board will have its sitting on March 25, 2014 in the office chamber of ADC Hq from 11 am onwards. Therefore, any polling officials assigned for election duty and have applied for medical case exemption, have been directed to appear before the Medical Board. No further cases will be entertained thereafter.
