Dimapur, April 2 (MExN): The Booth Level Officers (BLOs) under Dimapur district have been informed to collect their remuneration for distribution of EPIC and voter slips for the forthcoming Lok Sabha Elections on April 3 from the Election Branch, office of the DC & DEO, Dimapur between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm.
WSKH emergency meeting
Dimapur, April 2 (MExN): The Western Sumi Kukami Hoho (WSKH) has convened an emergency meeting of its office bearers, executive members and advisors on April 4, 10 am at the Hoho office at Chekiye village. All members concerned have been informed to attend the meeting without fail.
PDTTU appeals to stop taxation on timber traders
Jalukie, April 2 (MExN): Peren District Timber Traders’ Union (PDTTU) has expressed strong support to the “wide and bold step” taken by Nagaland Timber Traders’ Union (NTTU) against heavy taxation imposed by Naga Political Groups on timber traders. In a press release, PDTTU further expressed concern that if rampant taxation/ collection is not stopped on the timber traders, there will be no way to earn a little profit, “leave aside to run families after spending huge amount/ time and hard works with our sweat.” Therefore, PDTTU has appealed to the authorities concerned to stop the illegal collection/ taxation at the earliest in order to streamline the business.
Inspection of candidates’ expenditure accounts
Kohima, April 2 (DIPR): The 1st and 2nd inspection of the candidates’ expenditure accounts of all the different political parties for the Nagaland Parliamentary Election by Expenditure Observer Sushil Kumar Singh (IDAS), senior deputy, IFA was completed on March 29 and April 2 respectively. The last inspection of the same will be conducted on April 6, 2014 at DC’s conference hall, Kohima.
Independent of 9th Kohima Town A/C clarifies
Kohima, April 2 (MExN): Central Executive Body, Independent party of 9th Kohima Town assembly constituency has clarified on the “appeal” made by Dr. Er. Vikuotuolie Angami, ex Independent candidate of the constituency, which appeared in the local dailies. A press statement appended by president, Youth Independent and president, Central Body Independent said that in the appeal, Dr. Er. Vikuotuolie Angami had mentioned he is confident that all his electorates who stood by him in the last general election (2013) would cast 100% of their votes in favour of Neiphiu Rio in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections. However, the statement asserted, “he is confident” is only his “wishful thinking” and the appeal was made without the knowledge of the Central Executive Body. While clarifying its stand, the Executive Body appealed to the public to not be misled by “his wishful imaginations.”
Longsa Village Wokha supports Rio
Wokha, April 2 (MExN): The Longsa Village Council along with Longsa Village Eloe Hoho, Longsa Village Students’ Union, and Longsa Village Youth Organisation held a meeting at the Village Community Hall on March 31, 5:00 pm in the presence of MLA Dr. T. M. Lotha, and NCP Party officials and unanimously resolved to extend full support to Neiphiu Rio, the DAN consensus candidate for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. A press release from chairman, Longsa Village Council, informed that the meeting also resolved to call upon all the Village electorates to come and cast their vote as per the decision of the joint meeting to strengthen the hands of Dr. T. M. Lotha and for the success of the DAN Candidate Neiphiu Rio.
NPF 40 Bhandari A/C resolves to support Rio
Wokha, April 2 (MExN): The 40 Bhandari A/C DAN camping committee held a meeting at Bhandari town on April 1 in the presence of Minister Y. Patton. The meeting was attended by NPF, JDU and NCP. A press release from NPF 40 Bhandari A/C informed that besides Y. Patton, former candidate Achumbemo Kikon, and Mhonjan Lotha spoke at the meeting. According to the note, the meeting resolved to give “unflinching support” to DAN consensus candidate Neiphiu Rio in the forthcoming Lok Sabha election.
Peren DPDB meeting deferred
Peren, April 2 (DIPR): The Deputy Commissioner & Vice Chairman DPDB Peren, Peter Lichamo has informed all District Planning & Development Board members, Peren that the monthly DPDB meeting for the month of April has been deferred to April 15 (Tuesday) at 11 am in the Conference Hall of Deputy Commissioner, Peren. Therefore all DPDB members have been informed to make it convenient to attend the meeting without fail.

Phek, April 2 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner Phek, CM Tsanglao, IAS, has informed all the micro-observers under Phek district that there will be training on April 4 at DC’s Chamber at 11:00 am. Therefore, all concerned have been requested to attend the training without fail.
WSBAK youth leaders’ training concludes
Dimapur, April 2 (MExN): The WSBAK Youth Department conducted its youth leaders’ training at WSBAK Mission Center, Aküvüto from March 25 to 27. The resource persons were H. S. Rotokha, Secretary, I. Lozhevi and K. Hesso from Sümi Literature Board. The speakers were Rev. S. Vitoshe Swu, Executive Secretary; Easter H. Shohe, Secretary, Women Department; Khetoni Shikhu, Women Evangelist; and Inotoli S. Chisho, Office Assistant, WSBAK. The training particularly focused on learning the Sümi vernacular and also on preserving “our” culture and tradition. Around 160 youth leaders and language teachers attended the training. The Youth Secretary, WSBAK Rev. Ikuto Jimo in a press note has extended gratitude to the resource persons, speakers, youth leaders under WSBAK and participants for making the program successful.
