31st Int’l AIDS Candlelight Memorial in Dimapur
Dimapur, May 16 (MExN): The Dimapur Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS (DNP+) and District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit (DAPCU) in collaboration with partner NGOs of Dimapur will be observing the 31st International AIDS Candlelight Memorial, 2014 under the theme “Let's Keep the Light on HIV” on May 18 from IMC Hall, Dimapur at 02:00 p.m. Dr. Sedevi, Deputy Director, CIHSR will be the guest speaker for the programme. International AIDS Candlelight Memorial is observed to commemorate the life of those who have lost their lives to HIV/AIDS and to show solidarity and love to those who are infected and affected with HIV/AIDS today.
GPRN/NSCN bans porn CDs
Dimapur, May 16 (MExN): The GPRN/NSCN has a standing order banning sale of porn CDs throughout Nagaland, as it is one of the main contributing factors of crime and violence against women. It is, however, being reported that some CD outlets are still indulging in selling pornographic movies. Therefore, MIP GPRN/NSCN in a press release has asked all CD outlets to refrain from such disreputable activities with immediate effect, failing which a penalty will be imposed as deemed fit.
SPFDD executive meeting
Dimapur, May 16 (MExN): SPFDD executive meeting will be held on May 18 at 2:00 pm at the residence of Er T. Athriba, Signal Angami. All the Executive members are requested to attend positively. This was informed in a press release issued by SPFDD President Er. T. Athriba.
WDCCI direct shops to close down today
Wokha, May 16 (MExN): Wokha District Chambers of Commerce & Industries (WDCCI) has asked all the shops (commercial establishments) in Wokha town to close their business on May 17 as a mark of respect for late Woben Kikon who was the former president of the WDCCI. WDCCI President Zuben Ngullie while informeing this in a press release stated that Woben Kikon was also one of the chairmen of Wokha Town Council.
