Five cadres arrested 

Dimapur, October 5 (MExN): Based on a “specific input,” Security Forces in a joint operation with State Police on October 1 reportedly apprehended “five cadres of FGN and recovered one Pulsar Bike and Rs 20,000 extorted by him at general area Purana Bazar, Dimapur district.” HQ IGAR (N) in an update stated that the apprehended individuals along with recovered items have been handed over to East Police Station Dimapur, for further investigation. 

NCD condoles

Dimapur, October 5 (MExN): The Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) has expressed its sorrow over the sudden demise of A Akiu, a former NCD Councilor who passed away on October 3 in at Dimapur. He was a leader who was actively involved in the activities of NCD especially as a member of Vigilant Committee, contributing to harmony and goodwill in Dimapur and Nagas in general, stated the NCD in a condolence note from its General Secretary, Thsapongkyu Sangtam.  In this hour of grief the Naga Council expresses our heart-felt condolence to bereaved family and prays for the departed soul to rest in peace, it added. 

NLA oral evidence meeting on Oct 26 

Kohima, October 5 (MExN): The Nagaland Legislative Assembly’s Committee on Government Assurances (2021-2022) will hold Oral Evidence Meeting with various departments on October 26. The committee’s  meeting with the Department of Urban Development & Municipal Affairs, Civil Administrative Work Department, Home, Nagaland Public Works and Road & Bridges Departments has been fixed for October 26, 11 AM in the Assembly Committee Room, stated a release from the NLA Secretariat. All Members of the Committee on Government Assurances (2021-2022) are requested to kindly make it convenient to attend the meeting, added the release issued by Dr PJ Antony, Commissioner & Secretary.

NSCN (K) cadre surrenders in Tirap district

Itanagar, October 5 (PTI): A militant of the Khaplang faction of National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN K) has surrendered in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh, a senior official said on Tuesday. The NSCN (K) cadre was identified as self-styled second lieutenant Langnye Sumpa (38) of Kheti village. The militant surrendered before Tirap DC, district police personnel, and Assam Rifles on Monday, Tirap deputy commissioner Taro Mize said. Sumpa had joined the outfit in 2004. The surrenderee is liable to be dealt as per law if he is found indulging in illegal or anti-national activities, Mize added. 

Vehicle recovered 

Dimapur, October 5 (MExN): The UT, NSCN (IM) has recovered a four wheeler-Bolero GL bearing Regd. No. NL- 06/1950, Chassis number- 69277 and Engine number- 27076. Therefore, rightful owner is hereby informed to claim it by producing the original documents within seven days from the date of this publication, informed a press release issued by John M Yim, UT Secretary NSCN (IM).
