DCCI calls for participation in Oct 2 cleanliness drive 

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 1 (MExN): The Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industries (DCCI) has informed all the shop keepers, traders and businessmen to participate in the social work/cleanliness drive from 6:00am to 8:00am on October 2 to mark Gandhi Jayanti. A press release from Akashe K Zhimo, DCCI President asked the business community to make sure that their business premises are clean and hygienic all times.

Kohima Police informs 

KOHIMA, OCTOBER 1 (MExN): Kohima Police has informed that an unidentified non-local male who was under treatment at NHAK passed away on October 1 due to cardio pulmonary arrest. A press release from the PRO, Kohima Police said that the deceased had a stitch mark (scar) on the forehead measuring about 2 inches, is 5 feet 5 inches in height, aged between 30 to 35 years, slim built, and has short hair. The body of the deceased is kept at North Police Station morgue for identification. Any person, relative or community members known to the deceased may contact North Police Station, Kohima for more information. 

KMC reiterates ban on single use plastic

KOHIMA, OCTOBER 1 (MExN): The Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has reminded that the use and sale of single use plastic has been banned within the Kohima Municipal Council jurisdiction, and that such activity is liable to be penalized under Section 5 of the Environment (Protection) Act 1986. A press release from the KMC Administrator, Kovi Meyase stated that despite the directives issued by the KMC, dated September 19, 2019 on ban on use of all single use plastic items, the use and sale of single use plastic items seem to continue. It therefore reminded all to desist from such activities. 

Missing minors traced

MOKOKCHUNG, OCTOBER 1 (MExN): Two minors who had been reported missing on September 26 have been traced by the Women’s Cell of the Mokokchung Police. A press release from the Mokokchung SP informed that an FIR was lodged on September 26 that a minor girl had run away from Alisungkum sector with one of her school mates who is also a minor boy. The two children were “traced after thorough rescue efforts from Chuchuyimlang and handed over to Child Line 1098 Mokokchung in the presence of both the guardians after completing all necessary formalities within 12 hours of the matter being made aware to police authorities,” informed the Mokokchung Police.  

NSCN (IM) Saramati region bats for Naga flag and constitution

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 1 (MExN): The Saramati region of the NSCN (IM) held an emergency meeting on September 28 and reaffirmed its “unflinching support” to the ongoing Indo-Naga political talks based on the Framework Agreement of the August 3, 2015. A press release from Caretaker, CAO, Saramati region, SK Repuithong and Secretary, S Mujungmong said “it is our stand that the Naga solution must include Naga flag and Yehzabo (constitution) without which it cannot be honorable and thus not acceptable to the Nagas.” 

Yung Aung led NSCN (K) suspends Edu Kilonser

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 1 (MExN): The Yung Aung led NSCN (K) has suspended its Education Kilonser,  Manwan for a period of one year from the membership of NSCN/GPRN. A suspension order from the group’s Chairman, Yung Aung informed that this action was taken “on account of anti-party discipline and for tarnishing party image.” “He is found guilty of publishing an unauthorized press release and making opinionative statement in the media dated August 6, 2020 with ulterior motive to create doubt and confusion among national workers. This willful conduct of affairs independently is against the party discipline under Article 4 of Section C,” stated the order. It stripped the Education Kilonser of all authorization, power and privileges enjoyed by him with effect from September 29, 2020 till September 29, 2021.
