32nd death anniversary of AZ Phizo on April 30

Dimapur, April 23 (MExN): The Naga National Council (NNC) and the Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) along with NBCC leaders and Naga dignitaries will be observing the 32nd death anniversary of AZ Phizo, former President, NNC and father of the Naga Nation on April 30 at 7:00 am at Phizo Hill, Kohima. Therefore, the FGN has requested all fellow Nagas to participate in the occasion. 

NPAD notifies pensioners 

Dimapur, April 23 (MExN): All the pensioners in Dimapur, Chümoukedima and Niuland districts are informed that in the interest of the old aged pensioners, submission of form for health care insurance for pensioners has been further extended till May 31. The office of the Nagaland Pensioners’ Association Dimapur (NPAD) opens only three days a week i.e. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 11:00 am till 3:00pm. Further, NPAD, President, SK Kenye has clarified that “NPAD is not a government department but a voluntary welfare organisation with a limited man power manning the office for the welfare of the pensioners only.” Therefore, all are requested to give full cooperation to the staff manning the office.

EDBA condemns formation of new business association

Dimapur, April 23 (MExN): Apropos the press release published in local dailies on April 18 regarding seceding from East Dimapur Business Association (EDBA) and formation of a new business association under Naharbari Dimapur, the EDBA has clarified that “such an act is purely self centered in nature which will only gather disharmony and division among the business community and will be dealt with accordingly.” EDBA, President, Atoka Zhimomi in a condemnation note stated that the association will take action “against any individual as per the laws laid down in its constitution for advocating such unauthorized and selfish propaganda within its jurisdiction.” 

Gov brings Tsükhenye greetings

Kohima, April 23 (MExN): Governor of Assam and Nagaland Prof Jagdish Mukhi has extended Tsükhenye greetings to Chakhesang brothers and sisters and to the people of Nagaland. This festival marks the end of a successful harvest year and the preparation for the arrival of spring. Prof v said that it is also a time for seeking God’s blessings to replenish with good health and strength and a time to revive and rejuvenate before heading to the toiling work for the next seasonal harvest. “On this occasion, I wish you all with good health, peace and happy celebrations,” the Governor conveyed.
