In view of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly Election 2023, the Kohima Excise Election Expenditure and Monitoring duty party conducted raids at various “suspected” areas in and around Kohima town and seized 140 cases of assorted IMFL on January 25. In this connection, two persons were arrested and booked under NLTP Act, stated a press note issued by Vithoselie Terhuja, Asstt Commissioner of Excise, Kohima.

Dimapur Excise recovers 1165 cases of assorted IMFL

Dimapur, January 25 (MExN): The Dimapur District Excise duty party manning New Field inter-state checkgate intercepted a vehicle (truck) bearing registration No. NL-08D 9584 at around 12:45 am on January 25. Upon frisking the vehicle, the duty party recovered huge quantity of assorted IMFL amounting to 1165 cases, concealed under bags of household kitchen salts, stated a press release issued by Tokuho Assumi, Superintendent of Excise & Prohibition, Dimapur. In this connection, one L Gobin Singh (34) was arrested and booked under relevant sections of the NLTP Act 1989. The duty party was led by Allen Jami AIE, Khekhavi H/C,  constables Buden, Thejong, Khalenthung, Tsathongli, Wati and Sorila. 

A registration drive for Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS) was initiated by NDPP 26 Aonglenden Assembly Constituency, Mokokchung at Marepkong Ward on January 25. Nungsangmeren Longkumer, President NDPP 26 Aonglenden A/C stated that all 7 units under 26 Aonglenden A/C; Arkong, Dilong, Kupza, Marepkong, Sangtemla, Settsü and Ungma, will have the registration drives. 

Basant Panchami greetings

Kohima, January 25 (MExN): The Governor of Assam and Nagaland, Prof Jagdish Mukhi has extended Basant Panchami greetings to the people of Nagaland. “This beautiful festival marks the preparation for the arrival of spring. The celebrations focus on the importance of knowledge, language, music and all arts,” the governor stated in a message. “On this significant occasion, I wish you all happiness, good health, peace and prosperity. God bless Nagaland!” he added.
