Verification of Arms Licence in Dimapur, Chumou, Niuland

Dimapur, December 9 (MExN): Arms licence holders under Dimapur, Chümoukedima and NIuland districts have been directed to report to the concerned Police Stations for physical verification with effect from December 12, in view of the scheduled forthcoming General Assembly Elections 2023 to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly. This was informed in a press release issued by the DCP (Crime) & PRO, Dimapur on Friday. 

 

16409 visitors at Hornbill Fest on day 9

Kohima, December 9 (MExN): With only a day left for the 10-day Hornbill Festival, a total of 16, 409 tourists visited the Naga Heritage Village, Kisama on December 9. The day-wise tourist statistics by the Department of Tourism put the tally of foreign tourists at 58, 5694 for domestic tourists and 10,657 local tourists. The closing programme for the ‘Festival of Festivals’ will be held on December 10.

 

Governor conveys Terhünyi greeting

Kohima, December 9 (MExN): The Governor of Assam and Nagaland, Prof Jagdish Mukhi has extended Terhünyi greetings to Angami brothers and sisters and to the people of Nagaland. The Angami Naga celebrates this festival as a thanks giving to God for the bountiful harvest and for the good health to the people. “It is also an opportunity for the younger generation to learn the rich culture and beautiful traditions of the Angamis. Generosity, benevolence, unity and forgiveness are some significant essence found in Terhünyi festival. I wish you all happiness, good health, prosperity and happy celebrations. God bless everybody!” he stated. 

 

KPC annual sports-cum-picnic 

Kohima, December 9 (MExN): The Kohima Press Club (KPC) annual sports-cum-picnic will be organised at Kruzo Park, Tsiesema on December 13 from 10:00 am onwards. All the members of the club have been requested to participate in the annual event. The KPC also extends invitation to all its well-wishers to be a part of the programme. 

 

Motorcycle lost and found 

Dimapur, December 9 (MExN): The office of Union Territory (UT), GPRN/NSCN has recovered a Royal Enfield motorcycle (Black colour) bearing Engine No. U5S5F0DA035532 and Chassis No. ME305S5F0DA035532 from Dimapur town and kept it for claimant and authentication at its office at Naga Unification Camp, CHQ, Khehoyi. Therefore, genuine owner of the vehicle with all original documents is informed to contact at +917005512429 for claiming the same from the above mentioned office within 7 days’ time, MIP, GPRN/NSCN stated in a press release. 

 

Peren District GB Association elects new team 

Peren, December 9 (MExN): The Peren District GB Association (PDGA) held a general meeting-cum-selection of office bearers at Women Conference Hall Jalukie Town on December 7. The meeting was attended by 170 delegates from 75 villages under Peren district. The following Office bearers are elected for the year (2023-2027): Kwetlungying Chuilo-President; Heisolu Sephe-Vice-President; Hiateibe Namcyn Hau-General Secretary; and Irangdaung-Treasurer.
