Classic Club to launch book

Kohima, August 4 (MExN): The Classic Club Kohima will be launching a book on  ‘Riive  Phoumahuzou Kevo’ (A Journey to Sin City)  authored by Neisevituo Sorhie on August  5 at 5:00 PM at Hotel Japfii, Kohima. Nagaland School Education & SCERT Adviso, Dr Kekhrielhoulie Yhome will grace the occasion as the chief guest. Welcome address will be delivered by Dr Chotisuh Sazo, life member, Classic Club Kohima while short speech will be delivered by Metemsola Longchari, daughter of Lt Rev Moa Longchari. The programme will be chaired by Medolenuo Ambrocia Loucii while vote of thanks will be proposed by K Neibou Sekhose, President, Classic Club Kohima.

DIPR clarifies

Kohima, August 4 (MExN): The Department of Information & Public Relations (DIPR), Nagaland has clarified that the date of August 12, 2024 has been “mistakenly” highlighted in red on the Government Calendar published by the Department. “This is a printing error and should not be interpreted as a public holiday. The Department apologizes for any confusion this may have caused,” DIPR stated in its clarification.

MP Phangnon in committee on welfare of SC/ST

Kohima, August 4 (MExN): Nagaland’s lone Rajya Sabha MP, S Phangnon Konyak has been declared duly elected in the 10 members Committee on the Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. This was communicated through Rajya Sabha’s Parliamentary Bulletin on August 1. Other members in the committee included Sumitra Balmik, Mithlesh Kumar, Rwngwra Narzary, Phulo Devi Netam, Krishnan Lal Panwar, Devendra Pratap Singh, Dr V Sivadasan, Dr Kanimozhi NVN Somu and Mamata Thakur.
