5 Tribes CoRRP joint sitting with apex bodies today
Dimapur, August 8 (MExN): The 5 Tribes Committee on Review of Reservation Policy (CoRRP) will hold a joint sitting with the apex bodies of the five tribes at 10:00 AM on August 9 at Hotel URA, Kohima. The CoRRP, representing the Angami Public Organisation, Ao Senden, Lotha Hoho, Rengma Hoho, and Sumi Hoho, has been spearheading demands for a review of Nagaland’s job reservation policy.
NLA session from Sept 2, BAC meet on Aug 20
KOHIMA, AUGUST 8 (MExN): Nagaland Assembly Speaker and Chairperson of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) Sharingain Longkumer has convened a meeting of the BAC on August 20 to finalise the provisional programme for the upcoming Assembly session. The meeting will be held at 11 AM in the C. Chongshen Committee Room of the Assembly Secretariat, an official release said on Friday. The seventh session of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly is scheduled to commence on September 2, it added.
NLA committee on ULBs, VCs to meet August 19
KOHIMA, AUGUST 8 (MExN): Nagaland Advisor and Chairperson of the Committee on Urban Local Bodies and Nagaland Village Councils, K. Tokugha Sukhalu, has convened a meeting of the panel on August 19. The meeting will be held at 11 am in the C. Chongshen Committee Room of the Assembly Secretariat here, an official release said on Wednesday. The committee oversees matters related to the Nagaland Municipal Act, 2023, and the Nagaland Village and Tribal Council Act of 1978, as amended up to 2022. All members have been requested to attend the meeting, it added.
