ENSSU condemns

Dimapur, January 3 (MExN): The Eastern Nagaland Sumi Students’ Union (ENSSU) has expressed shock at the incident of ripping the official banner of the 18th general conference of the ENSSU raised at Kohima Road Samphure junction, Kiphire by some unidentified person in the eve of December 29, 2023 to January 1, 2024. ENSSU in a condemnation note stated that ‘this kind of act in an abuse towards student community and Eastern Sumis in general. This kind of act in a civilized society is strongly condemnable, when the sections of societies want to promote peace and harmony and to live oneness among the section of society. Such unwanted act brings commotion among the societies. ENSSU has appealed to the investigating authority to book those involved and punish them under relevant section of law, of the land and award appropriate punishment in order to avert any kind of situation.

Lhisemia Day on January 4

Kohima, January 3 (MExN): Lhisemia Council of Kohima Village is organising the 66th Lhisemia Day on January 4, from 10:30 am onwards at Tsiera Hall, L. Khel, Kohima Village with Pheluopfhelie Kesiezie as the guest of honour. Zapuvizo Liezietsu, Vice Chairman, Lhisemia Council will lead the programme while Ayie Yhome, Chairman, Lhisemia Council will greet the gathering on the occasion. This will be followed by special presentations and reports besides the speech of the guest of honour. Kezhalhoulie Tseikha will deliver the vote of thanks. The programme will be followed by community feast.

NSCN/GPRN (K) mourns

Dimapur, January 3 (MExN): NSCN/GPRN (K) has mourned the demise of Deputy Chief of Army NSCN/ GPRN (Akato) Hukato Chopi. “Late Hukato was a soldier with exemplary personality who has been respected for his determination and steadfast dedication and worked wholeheartedly with full commitment and patriotism throughout his service for the cause of the Naga nation,” MIP, NSCN/GPRN (K) stated in a condolence message. The NSCN/GPRN (K) is grateful and deeply honored of his stature with elegant integrity and gives highest respect and salutation to the late Hukato Chopi, it stated while conveying sorrow and sympathies to the bereaved family members and prays the Almighty to grant solace and comfort at this grief time. “May the departed soul rest in eternal peace,” it added.

NSCN/GPRN (Akato Chophi) condoles

Dimapur, January 3 (MExN): The NSCN/GPRN (Akato Chophi) through MIP has mourned the demise of Deputy C-In-C, Maj Gen Hukato Chophi on December 30. “Born on 17/02/1972, Late Chophi Joined the ‘Naga National Movement’ in the year 1992, who served the 'Nation' for more than 30 years and who had defended the rights of the Nagas with bravery, courage, honour and truth,” the condolence message stated.  “The NSCN invoke God's grace to kindly rest his soul in eternal peace and also prays that the good Lord provide solace to his family members and friends during their time of grief,” it added.

PDVA team for 3rd Nagaland Olympic & Paralympic Games

Kohima, January 3 (MExN): The Phek District Volleyball Association (PDVA) has selected the players to represent Phek District for the forthcoming 3rd Nagaland Olympic & Paralympic Games 2024 to be held in the month of February 2024. This was stated in a circular issued by PDVA president Tseibuo Khiisoh. Men Team: Nesato Pheseo, Kiikhalhii Nyekha, Miiliisayi Medeo, Vesakhoyi Medeo, Miiliivoyi Shijoh, Riipfiisii Rose, Niikhoto Tetseo, Niiciizo Nyekha, Sekhoyi Swiiro, Mhasisetuo Tetseo, Thiijongoyi Pheseo and Viede Koza.
