CRPF 173 BN holds blood donation camp in Dimapur

Dimapur, March 10 (MExN): As part of the 87th Raising Day celebrations of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), the 173 BN Battalion organised a voluntary blood donation camp at its Unit Headquarters near Airfield Dimapur on March 10.The camp was conducted in coordination with the Blood Centre of the District Hospital, Dimapur. A total of 53 personnel from the unit came forward to donate blood, aiming to address critical medical requirements and support the healthcare needs of the local community. A press release received here stated that the initiative reflects the humanitarian ethos of the force and underscores its commitment to societal welfare beyond primary operational mandates. The programme was executed with the professional support of Dr Rongsen Longkumer and the medical team from the District Hospital, Dimapur.

 

Nagaland reviews SSS scheme, releases key reports on economy and forests
Kohima, March 10 (MExN): The Department of Economics and Statistics, Nagaland convened a meeting of the State High Level Steering Committee (SHLSC) on the Support for Statistical Strengthening (SSS) sub-scheme under the chairmanship of Sentiyanger Imchen, Chief Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, at the Nagaland Civil Secretariat conference hall on March 9. The meeting reviewed and approved activities under the SSS sub-scheme, a centrally funded initiative aimed at strengthening the capacity of the state statistical system. Implemented under the aegis of the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, the programme seeks to improve the collection, compilation and dissemination of timely and reliable official statistics to support evidence-based planning and policy formulation. During the meeting, four reports prepared under the scheme were released: Report on Income Disparity in Nagaland, 2025; Time Use Survey in Nagaland, 2025; Survey on Forest and Forest Products in Nagaland, 2025; and Study on Rates and Ratio Used in Estimation of Gross Value Added in Construction for Nagaland.

 

State govt rolls out Jeevan Pramaan system for pensioners
Kohima, March 10 (MExN): The Finance Department, Government of Nagaland has informed that following the successful onboarding of the state government on the Jeevan Pramaan Portal, all state government pensioners have been advised to immediately register on the platform to generate their Digital Life Certificate (DLC). The Jeevan Pramaan system enables pensioners to submit their life certificate digitally, allowing verification of their status online without the need to visit pension disbursing agency offices in person. The department stated that the initiative aims to simplify the verification process and make it more convenient and accessible for pensioners across the state.

 

Skill training on dessert making held in Wokha under PACES initiative
Wokha, March 10 (MExN): The Department of Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Nagaland conducted a training programme on basic dessert making and baking skills under the “Providing Access to Core Employability Skills (PACES)” initiative from February 25 to March 9 at Summer House-cum-Guest House, Bhandari in Wokha district. The inaugural session was chaired by Sorenbeni Kikon, while the welcome address was delivered by Employment Officer Wokha, Ekonthung Ezung. Speaking at the programme, SDO (Civil) Bhandari Arhomo Yanthan encouraged participants to acquire baking and dessert-making skills, stating that such training can help individuals become productive, self-reliant and economically independent. At the valedictory programme, Merlin Humtso shared the trainees’ testimony while Officer-in-Charge of ITI Wokha, Nyanbemo Lotha, delivered a short address. A total of 25 participants received certificates and toolkits at the conclusion of the training programme.
