Nagaland CM stresses accurate Census 2027

Kohima, March 11 (MExN): Nagaland Chief Minister Dr Neiphiu Rio stressed on the need to make accurate census in the upcoming exercise of Census of India 2027. “We have to make accurate census,” Dr Rio said at the 8th session of 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) on Tuesday. “If we make multiple entries of census, you will face consequences, he said. Your bank account will not function, your ration card, your driving licence, all your system will fail. We have to be more serious this time,” he said. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister asked all the elected representatives to spread the message in their respective constituency and district for ensuing accurate census. He also told them to involve the civil societies, the churches, and the public leaders, “so that we come out with more accurate census.”
 

Power shutdown in parts of Dimapur from March 12 to 14

Dimapur, March 11 (MExN): Power supply will remain suspended in several areas of Dimapur for three days from Thursday to facilitate vegetation clearance along the transmission lines. Executive Engineer of the Transmission Division, Dimapur, informed that a shutdown of the 66kV Sovima-Chümoukedima and 66kV Ganeshnagar transmission feeders has been scheduled from March 12 to 14. The maintenance work will be carried out in the Nagaland Zoological Park area at Rangapahar and along the aforementioned transmission lines, the official said in a press release. Power supply will remain suspended from 6:00 am to 9:00 am on all three days, affecting the 66/11kV Sovima substation, 66/33/11kV Chümoukedima substation and 66/33/11kV Ganeshnagar substation. The Department while acknowledging inconvenience caused to the affected consumers also requested cooperation from all.

 

Advisory for jhum burning in Tseminyu on March 13

Tseminyu, March 11 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner Tseminyu, Japheth Woch, NCS has informed that the Tseminyu Union has fixed a date for traditional practices of Jhum burning on March 13 at 11:00 am onwards at Tsensun Area Tseminyu jurisdictions. In this connection, all the Villages and Town in and around have been informed to remain vigilant and take precautionary measures to prevent the spread of forest fire in their area and to mobilize volunteers to control fire in case of emergency. The Union is instructed to ensure that the Jhum is burnt in controlled manner with proper monitoring and take precautionary measures to avoid spreading of forest fire to the neighbouring areas.

 

Arms firing exercise in Kohima from April 1

Kohima, March 11 (MExN): The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Kohima has informed the general public of Kohima that small arms firing exercise is to be conducted by the 13 Assam Rifles from April 1 to 30 at the Firing Range, Kohima Garrison. The general public have been advised not to enter or take cattle for grazing near the firing area during the mentioned period for safety reasons.

 

Travel advisory issued for road stretch in Peren

Peren, March 11 (MExN): The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Peren, D Robin, has issued a travel advisory informing that the road stretch from Bana Colony to Old Jalukie PWD approach road will remain closed from March 10 to 17. The advisory stated that the closure is due to ongoing excavation work in the area. The ADC has requested strict compliance from all concerned during the period of the closure.

 

National IP Yatra workshop to be held in Dimapur

Dimapur, March 11 (MExN): A two-day workshop on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) under the National IP Yatra will be organised on March 12 and 13 at the Integrated Business Hub & Innovation Centre, Forest Colony, Dimapur. According to an official update, the programme is being organised by the Intellectual Property Facilitation Centre (IPFC) in collaboration with the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India. The workshop is open to start-ups, MSMEs, entrepreneurs, business owners, artisans, creators, artists, Self Help Groups (SHGs), Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), NGOs, scholars and researchers. The initiative aims to promote awareness on intellectual property rights and encourage innovation and entrepreneurship among different stakeholders.
