ADC office Jalukie sealed
Jalukie, May 19 (MExN): With the detection and confirmation of COVID-19 positive case and in the large interest of public health and safety, ADC Jalukie, DrTinojongshi Chang has sealed the office of the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Jalukie for 48 hours with effect from May 19. The ADC further has warned that any person violating the containment measures will be liable to be prosecuted as per the provisions of Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 besides legal action under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code.
Two locations sealed in Chozuba
Chozuba, May 19 (MExN): In view of the detection of COVID-19 positive case and in order to take preventive measures to contain its spread, Additional Deputy Commissioner and Chairperson of the Block Task Force has ordered the sealing of Zudulhu building at Phakuzho Ward and Mero Filling Station, Chozuba for 48 hours with effect from May 18. This was informed through the DIPR on Wednesday.
Houses sealed at Wakching
Wakching, May 19 (MExN): In order to take effective measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Wakching SDO(C) Relise Sangtam ordered the sealing of Wakching Police Outpost and three houses at Yupnok Wannung Colony. The houses are to remain sealed till further orders, it stated, while adding that persons violating the containment measures would be liable to be proceeded against as per the provision of Sections 51 to 60 of Disaster Management Act 2005 besides legal action under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code and other legal provisions.
Mon DC orders sealing of 6 houses
Mon, May 19 (MExN): Mon Deputy Commissioner Thavaseelan K on May 19 ordered the sealing of six houses in Mon town in order to take effective measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The sealed locations included a house each at Shantham Ward, Tanlao Ward, Wagiem Ward, Shamnyu Ward, Tompang Ward, and Wagiem Ward. Stating that the houses are to remain sealed till further orders, the DC cautioned that any person violating the containment measures would be liable to be proceeded against as per the provision of Sections 51 to 60 of Disaster Management Act 2005 besides legal action under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code and other legal provisions.
SBI Longleng sealed; banking services suspended
Longleng, May 19 (MExN): The State Bank of India, Longleng branch has been shut down with effect from May 18 to May 31, following the detection of COVID-19 positive case among the employees. The action has been necessitated to control and contain the spread of the disease and for necessary contact tracing and disinfection of the office, Longleng Deputy Commissioner and Chairperson of the District Task Force M Shayung Phom said in an order issued through the state DIPR. Therefore, the general public has been informed that the banking activities shall remain suspended until the expiry of the stipulated period/till further notice from the competent authority, it added.
DWU mourns demise of chairperson
Dimapur, May 19 (MExN): The Duncan Women Union (DWU) has mourned the demise of its Chiarperson Elizabeth Merry who passed away on May 18. “Since 2012, the Duncan Women Union under the exemplary stewardship of Elizabeth Merry has led the way undertaking remarkable initiatives in Duncan Basti. She set examples of tireless and selfless service to the Union. Elizabeth Merry’s dedication will be difficult to replace, her presence missed, and her contribution the benchmark for those to follow,” it said in a condolence message on Wednesday. The union conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
