NSCN-K terminates two functionaries
Dimapur, May 6 (MExN): The NSCN-K (Niki) has on Wednesday issued a statement informing that two civil functionaries under its Union Territory (UT) set-up have been terminated from active national service with immediate effect.
According to the statement issued by its Ministry of Information and Publicity (MIP), the action was taken following a directive from the higher authority of the NSCN/GPRN, citing charges of insubordination, moral misconduct and involvement in anti-national activities.
An order issued by the Ministry of Kilo Affairs, NSCN/GPRN, named the individuals as Leacy Viketo Aye, son of Nguhekhe Aye of Lumami village, and Razou Peyu Kakiye Assumi, son of Tokugha of Baimho village.
The statement said the termination order has come into force with immediate effect.

Mini legal services camp in Pungro on May 8

Pungro, May 6 (MExN): The Kiphire District Legal Services Authority (KDLSA), in collaboration with the district administration and the Assam Rifles, will organise a Mini Legal Services Camp at the ADC Office in Pungro on May 8 from 10:30 am onwards. According to a DIPR report, the camp will provide free affidavit services, Aadhaar enrolment and correction services, guidance on postal and social welfare schemes, free health check-ups, on-site registration and issuance of Ayushman Bharat cards, and free anti-rabies vaccination for dogs. Citizens of Pungro and nearby areas have been encouraged to avail the services.

Firing, explosive training exercise underway in Mon till May 31

Mon, May 6 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner Mon, Wennyei Konyak, NCS, has informed the public that the Assam Rifles will be conducting firing and explosive practice at the Unit Firing Range under Tactical Headquarters, Mon till May 31, between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm. According to an official notification, loud sounds from firing and explosions may be heard in and around Mon and adjoining areas during the training period. Accordingly, the public has been advised not to panic, as the exercise is part of routine training activities. Residents have also been advised to avoid movement in the vicinity of the firing range and camp area during the period, and to ensure the safety of children and livestock, the State DIPR added. 

Akashvani Kohima to hold marathon on May 8

Kohima, May 6 (MExN): To mark 90 years of broadcasting in India, Akashvani stations across the country will organise a Marathon and Walkathon on May 8.
As part of this nationwide commemoration, Akashvani Kohima will host a marathon with participation from students of Government High Schools in Kohima.
The marathon will be flagged off by the Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, B Henok Buchem, from Old MLA Hostel Junction and will culminate at High School Junction.
The opening ceremony is scheduled to begin at 6:00 AM.
The closing ceremony will be graced by Kethosituo Sekhose, Director of Youth Resources and Sports, Government of Nagaland.
Apart from Government school students, staff of Akashvani Kohima will also take part in the event.
The marathon is being organised in partnership with Miacheio Market, Peraciezie, and the National Health Mission under the Department of Health and Family Welfare, while the State Bank of India, Regional Business Office, Dimapur Region is the event sponsor.
