DC Kiphire informs on draft list of poll stations 

Kiphire, September 3 (MExN): The publication of the draft list of polling stations for 59 Seyochung- Sitimi A/C and 60 Pungro-Kiphire A/ C under Kiphire District has been prepared by the Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, Kiphire T Wati Aier. In this regard, the DC Kiphire has informed that the draft of polling stations have been made available in the office of Deputy Commissioner and District Election officer, Kiphire for inspection by the general public. If there is any objection or suggestions to be made in the draft list of polling stations, the general public are invited to make application in written before District Election Officer, Kiphire on or before September 10, he informed.

CPO executive council meeting on Sept 11

Kohima, September 3 (MExN): The Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) has convened an executive council meeting on September 11 at Chida Post under Khezhakeno village. All the area presidents and executive members, Chakhesang Youth Front, Chakhesang Students’ Union and Chakhesang Mothers’ Association have been requested to attend the said meeting without fail. This was stated in a release issued by CPO President Mikha Kenye and Publicity & Information Secretary Vipanyi Krome.

Phek: Illegal liquor worth Rs 3.69 lakh seized 

Phek, September 3 (MExN): Security Forces in a joint operation with State police recovered illegal liquor at Meluri town, Phek on August 29. HQ IGAR (N) in a press release stated that the recovered illegal liquor were seized “based on a specific input” and were worth approximately Rs 3.69 lakh. The recovered illegal liquor has been handed over to Meluri Police Station, Phek, the HQ IGAR (N) stated.

NBSE webinar on ‘Vocational edu and NEP 2020’ on Sept 7

Kohima, September 3 (MExN): The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE), in order to acquaint the schools with current policies in vocational education, is organizing a webinar on ‘Vocational Education and NEP 2020’ with Dr Vinay Swarup Mehrotra on September 7 from 2:00 pm-4:00 pm. The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 has given utmost importance on the concept of skills development and one of the main thrust is on vocational education, a DIPR report stated. The heads of registered institutions have been requested to attend the webinar positively. CIH observes World Coconut Day

Dimapur, September 3 (MExN): The Central Institute of Horticulture (CIH), celebrated World Coconut Day on the theme ‘Building a Safe Inclusive Resilient and Sustainable Coconut Community Amid COVID-19 Pandemic & Beyond’ on September 2. To mark the event, CIH organized a field day on coconut to emphasize and raise awareness on importance and benefits of coconuts. World Coconut Day is observed on September 2 annually to commemorate the formation of Asian Pacific Coconut Community (APCC) by raising awareness campaigns and technical sessions, the CIH informed in a press release. As a part of celebration, the technical staff of the institute visited coconut growing areas under Dimapur district to interact with the growers and provide technical guidance on issues related to production technology and post harvest processing.
