JSU condemns

Peren, September 5 (MExN): The Jalukie Students’ Union, Peren, Nagaland on Sunday expressed shock and dismay at the alleged murder of a non–local male within the vicinity of Jalukie Town. “This kind of inhuman act has traumatized the mentality of the children and general public at large,” it said in a press release, condemning the alleged murder. The Union requested the investigating agency to arrest the culprit at the earliest so as to save innocent lives in the days to come.

Sovima bans hunting

Kohima, September 5 (MExN): Team Sovima 21-26, in its first general meeting held at the Village Council Hall on September 4 has resolved to completely ban hunting and trapping of wild life in its jurisdiction. Defaulters will be fined Rs 5000 on the spot, and their guns, air rifles, traps etc shall be seized by the Council. This was adopted as a resolution among various other resolutions, according to a release issued by chairman, Sovima Village Council.

2 arrested in Dimapur

Dimapur, September 5 (MExN): Security Forces in a joint operation with Police apprehended two over ground workers (OGWs) - one each of NSCN (IM) and GPRN/NSCN at general area Thahekhu, Dimapur on August 30. According to a press release from the HQ IGAR (N), the arrest was made in a joint operation “based on a specific input,” and recovered Rs 47,600 in cash. The apprehended individuals along with recovered items have been handed over to Sub Urban Police Station, Dimapur for further investigation, the release added.

Body recovered in Peren

Peren, September 5 (MExN): An unidentified decomposed body, suspected to be of a non-local, was found near ITM School about 50 ft away from the main road, Dobashi Colony, Jalukie Town, under Peren district on September 4. The Superntendent of Police, Peren informed that the deceased person was aged above 30 years of age, approximately 5.6ft tall and dark in complexion. He was wearing a red T-shirt with white stripes, white trousers and a blue slipper, the SP added. Accordingly, a case has been registered and the dead body has been sent to Dimapur District Hospital for post mortem examination. At present, the dead body is at Dimapur District Hospital morgue for identification.
