Central Minority Wing yearly meeting today
DIMAPUR, JULY 21 (MExN): The Central Minority Wing will hold its yearly meeting-cum-orientation programme at the Conference Hall, Dimapur Division Office, on July 22 at 2:00 pm. The programme is aimed at strengthening coordination and organisational functioning among Minority Wing units under the Dimapur and Chümoukedima divisions. Presidents, secretaries and representatives of the Assembly Constituency units concerned, along with divisional and Central Minority Wing office-bearers, have been requested to attend, informed Roshan B K, Press & Media In-charge and General Secretary, Central Minority Wing.
KMC directs
Kohima, July 21 (MExN): All shopkeepers and business establishments within Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) have been directed to white wash/paint the front side of their respective building and shops facing the road on or before August 10 in view of the forthcoming celebration of 80th Independence Day 2026. In a press release, the KMC stated that the direction was in pursuance of the recent home department meeting minutes.
NNC-FGN monthly meeting on July 27
Kohima, JULY 21 (MExN): The monthly meeting of the Naga National Council (NNC) and Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) will be held at the Transit Peace Camp (TPC), Kohima, on July 27 at 10:00 am. In an information issued by FGN Rali Wali Kilonser Yirei Lungleng, all Central and Regional authorities, leaders of the Naga Women Federation (NWF) and Naga Youth Federation (NYF), as well as eligible Naga Army officers of the NNC/FGN, have been requested to attend the meeting.
Unidentified body recovered in Medziphema
DIMAPUR, JULY 21 (MExN): An unidentified male body was recovered from an abandoned house at Ward-1, Medziphema, on July 20, the Commissionerate of Police, Dimapur informed.
According to a press note issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime)/PRO, information regarding the body was received at around 12:30 pm, following which personnel from Medziphema Police Station proceeded to the spot for verification.
The deceased, suspected to be a non-Naga aged approximately 45-50 years, was found lying inside the abandoned house. An inquest was conducted and the cause of death is suspected to be illness and starvation, police stated.
After completion of legal formalities, the body was shifted to the District Hospital Dimapur morgue for post-mortem examination and identification.
