A meeting in connection with the ongoing 2 lane road construction between Chakhabama-Zunheboto, was held on March 20 at Deputy Commissioner's Conference Hall under the chairmanship of DC Zunheboto, Peter Lichamo. The meeting was attended by representatives Sümi hoho, Sümi Kükami hoho, Sümi gazetted officer's union, SKK, GBs, VCCs from surrounding villages, landowners and representatives from SSAALWC. A meeting of the District Level Standing Committee on Model Code of Conduct for the forthcoming bye-election of 51 AC Noksen was held at DC’s Conference Hall on March 18. The meeting was chaired by DC & DEO Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant IAS. The meeting was attended by SDO (C) RO Tsiatsusie for 51 A/C Noksen, Administration officers, political parties and election department staff. DC & DEO highlighted on the instructions of the Election Commissions office and on application of MCC in the whole district as directed by the Election Commission. The much awaited health centres along the international border areas, a sub-centre at Aniasu village on March 18 and a sub-centre at Langnok village was inaugurated on March 20 by Senior Medical Officer (SMO), Noklak, Dr Victor Lam. The SMO Noklak upon the villagers to take ownership of the sub-centres and contribute in every way possible. He also called upon them to give their full cooperation to the medical staff and advised the villagers to avail the benefits at the sub-centres. He expressed appreciation to the village authorities for construction of attached kitchen for the staff and arrangement of accommodation for the ANM at both villages. (DIPR Photo) 

Leo Club of Dimapur (India) and Leo Club of Sialkot Galaxy (Pakistan) jointly celebrated International Day of Happiness. Leo Club of Dimapur organised a programme with the caretakers and people who stay at Old Age Home and provided edible items. Leo Club of Sialkot Galaxy also spent time with people of Old Age Home. The District Administration, led by EAC Nsong, Peren Tumben P Tsanglao, NCS, inaugurated a market shed at the Tri Junction of Nagaland- Assam-Manipur under Ngaulong Lodi village, Peren under the banner of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) on March 20. The EAC highlighted on the programmes under BBBP like Samridhi Sukanya Yojana. He informed that the sensitisation programmes for COVID-19 vaccination drive and the role of women in the grassroots level leadership is in progress. Social Welfare Department (ICDS) with Medical Department conducted Poshan Pakhwada camp under Poshan Abhiya at Sub-centre Salangtem Ward, Mokokchung on March 22. The target of the camp was to address Identification of Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) and Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM), children screening and management of anemia among women and adolescent girls. The Post Graduate Student’s Council initiated the Post Graduate Studies of Unity College 2nd Freshers’ meet under the theme “There are no strangers in here, just friends you haven’t met” on March 20. Leipa Konyak of MA (Political Science) and Ashu Rhitse of MA (History) were crowned Mr and Miss Fresher respectively. The college principal, Dr Lichumo Enie exhorted the gathering.

Social Welfare Department (ICDS) Tuensang, on account of Poshan Pakwada, held a cooking competition on the theme ‘local nutritious recipe’ at Model Anganwadi Center, Tuensang Village on March 22. BMP NSRLM Noksen, Mushiu and Block Coordinator Thonoknyu, Imlong were the judges for the competition. Chongkimonyu, AWW Center-B, Tuensang village won the first prize, C Yongchingsonla AWW Center-C, Tuensang village won the second prize while the third prize was won by B Khumla AWW, B Khel Tuensang village, center.
