The Kewhimia Peli No. 13 Sekrenyi- cum-get together 2022 took place today at Khriesanuomia Badze, P Khel, Kohima village. The festival was hosted by Kekhotakhrie Peli No. 13 (Pfuchatsumia Thinuo). It was a get-together of Peli No. 13 from Pfuchatsumia, Tsütuonuomia, Lhisemia and Dapfütsumia khel of Kohima village. Pfuchazounuoko presented folk song. Imcharenla IPS, DIG (NAP), Kohima interacted with medical staff, students and teachers during her inspection of 4th NAP Battalion, Thizama on March 5.

In order to spread the awareness on the theme for International Women’s Day theme ‘Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow,’ Food Corporation of India (FCI) organized the function at auditorium of FCI headquarter on March 8. The function was inaugurated by Vinita R Sharma, Executive Director (Finance). Bijay Kumar Singh, Executive Director (Personnel) was the chief guest of function. Speeches were delivered followed by Sarswati Vandana, Nukkad Natak etc. The programme concluded with the distribution of gifts to all the women working in FCI.

Senior Citizen Home (John 3:16 Society) in collaboration with Social Welfare Department observed the international women’s day. P Hamkai, Director, John 3:16 Society, Mon delivered a welcome note. Amei Konyak, Supervisor, Social Welfare Department, Mon shared on Gender Equality and Break the Bias. The programme concluded by vote of thanks from Ngepkhao, Coordinator Childline Mon. 

Nagaland State Cooperative Bank (NStCB) Ltd during the international women’s day reached out to women vendor in Naga Shopping Arcade (Super Market) and New Market area of Dimapur. Women officials of NStCB Women Development Cell distributed food packets and water flasks to the vendors and enlightened them on financial literacy, financial inclusion and digital banking. Accounts opening form for opening of Basic Saving Accounts were also distributed. The women Cell reached out to 150 vendors. District Administration and District Level Centre for Women- Mahila Shakti Kendra (BBBP), Phek in collaboration with District Hospital Phek observed International Women's Day at Kotisu village under Phek District on March 8. Resource person Dr Ngopelo Keviechu, Senior Medical Officer, District Hospital Phek emphasized on the importance of women health and wellness; Jopokhuyi, IT OSC Phek highlighted the services of Sakhi- One Stop Centre; Veposelu Naroh shared the roles and responsibilities of Mahila Shakti Kendra and also highlighted the activities under BBBP schemes; Kekhriengunuo, Field Response Officer, National Helpline for Senior Citizens, Nagaland shared various schemes for senior citizens. The formal function was followed by free medical camp. Around 150 women and children availed the medical services.

Nagaland Police Headquarter celebrated International Women's Day at PHQ, Kohima with Advisor, Naga Mothers Association, Dr Rosemary Dzüvichü as the special guest speaker. During the programme, a booklet on 'SOPs for Crime Against Women' was also released. Altogether, six women staff was felicitated namely OrenboniKikon, Asstt. OS, Branch-I, PHQ; Sedevinuo Sokha, UDA, INT; Kekhriesenuo Chuse, LDA, Branch-III, PHQ; Adono Kent, UBSI, INT; Lanurenla, Computer Operator, SCRB, PHQ; and Metsiseno, WPC, Cyber Crime PS, PHQ. UBSI Tsuponi from INT and ASI Venus Kikon from DBF Kohima shared their experience on the role of Women Police. The programme was attended by senior officers and women police personnel. (DIPR Photo) 

Baptist College, Kohima conducted a seminar in commemoration of International Women’s Day on March 8. The event was organised by Women’s Forum and Anti-Sexual Harassment Cell of the College in association with the Family Planning Association of India (FPAI) Nagaland Branch at Rivenburgs Memorial Chapel, Kohima. Resource person Samlam Michui, Program Officer FPAI –Kohima branch spoke on the topic “Sensitizing Gender and Sex Stereotypes.” Altogether, 127 people attended the seminar, including students, faculty of the college and FPAI team.
