(DIPR Photo)Election Observer for Pfutsero Town Council, V Lovitoly Sema, Joint Secretary held a co-ordination meeting with the administration, police, government officials and public leaders at ADC’s conference Hall, Pfutsero, Phek on June 14. According to a DIPR report, Sema called upon the members to maintain a peaceful environment during the ULB election and requested the public leaders of every ward to maintain proper polling station for the smooth functioning during the election process. Returning Officer, Pfutsero Town Council, Moakumzuk Tsudir also advised the officers and colony leaders to strictly follow the election guidelines. ARO C. Phuniang highlighted on the topic Model Code of Conduct (MCC), and SDPO, Pfutsero highlighted on the law and order situations.The first phase of training for polling personnel of the ULB election to the Kohima Municipal Council and Chiephobozou Town Council was held at Kohima College, Kohima on June 14. Secretary & Election Observer, Kohima Municipal Council, Anthony Ngully briefed the polling personnel on the election process. EAC Kezocha, Molosangla was the officer in-charge of the training. In total, 80 polling officials attended the training. The first phase of training programme for the polling personnel was held at DC’s conference hall, Wokha on June 14. Additional Secretary, & Election Observer for Wokha Town Council, Hiazu Meru, while interacting with the polling officials during the training urged all the polling personnel to take their assigned duty with outmost sincerity and dedication. He also stated that, the success on conducting the electioneering process depend on their performance and urged the polling personnel to take care of their polling stations for smooth and peaceful conduct of the election. Later the Election Observer inspected all the polling stations.ADC & RO, Pungro, Vekusheyi Rhakho conducted scrutiny of nomination papers for Pungro Town Council, Kiphire in the presence of Election Observer, Renabomo Odyuo. Eight nomination papers filed by the candidates were scrutinized on June 13 at the office of ADC & RO, Pungro, Kiphire. Following the review, all eight candidates were confirmed as validly nominated to contest in the election across the eight wards of Pungro Town Council.A district level coordination committee meeting was held for the smooth conduct of the ULB election to the Tseminyu Town Council at DC’s office chamber, Tseminyu on June 14. The committee consists of the following members- DC Tseminyu, Rohit Singh as Convenor; Addl Deputy Commissioner, Tseminyu, Longasen Lotha; EAC (Hq) RuokuosetuoTetso; Addl. Superintendent of Police, Lanu Aier; all wards GBs, Tseminyu Town council members and all the political parties president as members.The 1st phase of training of Polling Officers for Niuland Town Council was held on June 14 at DC Conference Hall, Niuland. The training was chaired by Tiayanger Jamir, SDO(C) Kuhuboto & Nodal Officer for training. Welcome Speech was given by S Athsangla, ADC & Returning Officer, Niuland Town Council. She called upon all polling personnels to carry out their duties sincerely. The District Level Master Trainers Vitoka Yepthomi, EAC Niuland and Dr Amenla, District Fishery Officer, Niuland gave a detailed explanation on the duties and roles of the polling officers.
