Appeal to observe Plebiscite Day
Kohima, May 13 (MExN): The Naga National Council (Parent Body) has appealed to all the Naga national workers in particular and the Naga citizens in general to observe the Naga National Plebiscite Day on May 16. “We observe this national day every year as it is our democratic right for freedom inclusive to all the Naga inhabited areas,” stated the NNC Information & Publicity Wing in a press release. It appealed to all the Naga people in the homeland and abroad to remember this day “as our national right in praise and prayer to our Living God.” It said, “May the Naga people at this severe crisis of pandemic that is prevailing in the world remember all the victims in our prayer, and also to pray earnestly to our living God to defeat and eradicate this virus. May God bless and protect all.”
Naga Plebiscite anniversary prog canceled
Chedema, May 13 (MExN): The scheduled programme of the 70th Anniversary of the Naga Plebiscite on May 16 at Chedema Peace Camp, Chedema will not be held for the public due to the surge of the COVID-19. “This precautionary measure is taken for the well being and safety of the Nation,” informed a press note issued by Acüyi Vadeo, Joint Secretary, NNC. Meanwhile, it urged Nagas to devote their time, thought and mind for the nation in their respective places and homes “and pray to God for His favour in healing the people in this time of distress.”
DC Mon orders sealing of SSR CREST
Mon, May 13 (MExN): In order to take effective measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, DC Mon Thavaseelan K, IAS, on May 12 ordered the sealing of M/S SSR CREST and Engineering Camp-2 @ Km 52 + 300, Mon till further order.
Naginimora canteen sealed
In order to take effective measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, ADC Naginimora, Vineet Kumar, IAS, on May 12, ordered the sealing of Canteen Compound (Sitaram Canteen) near Angnung Junction, Assam Rifles Camp, Naginimora, till further orders.
Both DC and ADC Mon in theo order said that any person violating the containment measures would be liable to be proceeded against as per the provision of Sections 51 to 60 of Disaster Management Act 2005 besides legal action under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code and other legal provisions as applicable.
Dimapur police recovers unidentified body
Dimapur, May 13 (MExN): An unidentified dead body of a non-Naga male (approx 50-60 yrs) was recovered at an under construction building near Tenyimi Complex Circular Road on May 13. According to ADCP (CRIME)/PRO, Dimapur, on completion of all legal formalities the dead body was shifted to District Hospital for PM examination and identification. The deceased was running a tea stall in the said building. “Claimant, relatives or friends of the deceased are hereby requested to contact Officer-in-Charge, East Police Station,” the PRO stated.
Members added to State
War Room Core Committee
Kojima, May 13 (MExN): In continuation to the Home Department office order concerning the composition of the State Level War Room Core Committee members for COVID-19 pandemic, the following officer are included in the Core Committee: Agriculture Production Commissioner and Secretary, PHED as member. Further, Temsuwati Longkumer, Deputy Secretary, Home has been attached to the State Level Control Room for COVID-19. “The order shall come into force with immediate effect,” the Home Department notified.
WSBAK conveys condolences
Dimapur, May 13 (MExN): The Western Sümi Baptist Akükühou Küqhakulu (WSBAK) has mourned the demise of late Tovikhu Tukha, Associate Pastor, Thilixü Village Baptist Church on May 12. He served in various capacities during his ministry since May 16, 2007- May 12, 2021.
“His humility and goodness is an example for all the other ministers to live out,” WSBAK Executive Secretary Rev Dr Phughoto Sema stated in a press note.
The Association extended gratitude to all the well-wishers and especially Thilixü Village Baptist Church for supporting late Tovikhu Tukha during his illness in various capacities.
The Association has also mourned with the demise of Rev Hekato Achumi Pastor, Tohoi Baptist Church on May 13. “Rev Hekato Achumi has served the Lord faithfully and earnestly for thirty three year since January 26, 1988 –May 13, 2021. It is indeed a great loss for the association to lose one of its senior active minister of God,” WSBAK said in its condolence.
It also extended condolence to Vitoli Rochill, prayer warrior at WSBAK Prayer Centre at Henivi for the loss of her husband Nivishe Rochill on May 13.
The Association conveyed condolence to the bereaved families with pray for God’s comfort and peace.
