Over the years, Khonoma has attracted visitors and picnickers however; this has resulted in Khonoma becoming a dumping ground of wastes. Khonoma strongly discourages use of single use plastics within its jurisdiction. This picture is one among the three sign boards urging cooperation to adopt healthy lifestyles and to conserve nature. During his maiden visit to Kohima on February 19, Lieutenant General Rana Pratap Kalita, AVSM, SM, VSM, General Officer Commanding Spear Corps visited HQ IGAR (North) where he was briefed about the prevailing Security situation and operational preparedness of the formation. The General Officer also visited the Kohima war cemetery to pay reverence. Soil erosion is threatening to wash away major portion of the CIHSR land located along the Chathe River.
