Nagaland participates in NSS Mega Summer Camp

The National Service Scheme (NSS) team from Nagaland during the NSS Mega Summer Camp held at Singhad Technical Education Society’s at Lonavala District, Pune Maharashtra.
 
Kohima, July 5 (MExN): The Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports has introduced Annual Summer Mega Camp for 400 National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers with a view to expand the NSS activities where the NSS volunteers was given opportunities to share their views, culture and tradition.
This year the NSS Mega Summer Camp was held at Singhad Technical Education Society’s at Lonavala District, Pune Maharashtra, from June 18 to 29 where 14 NSS volunteers, from different college from Nagaland State participated in the camp. The delegates from Nagaland were led by Nüveta Khüsoh, NSS Programme officer of capital college, Kohima.
Among the 400 volunteers from across the country participating, Adaphro A of Science College Kohima was awarded “Best Volunteer”, during NSS Camp while Zaremo, NSS volunteer science college Kohima was also awarded consolation prize for Elocution competition. Other important activities of the camp included Yoga Practices, Academic session and cultural shows. The teams were also give opportunity to visit historical sites as part of educational tours to Shiveneri Fort, Ajanta Caves, Ellora caves, Shaniwarwada Monmument, Agakhan Palace (Gandhi National Memorial society) and Medicinal & Aromatic Project at Rahuri etc.
