Nagaland Pensioners’ Association clarifies on ID cards

Nagaland Pensioners’ Association (NPA) reacts to Shri. L. Odyuo Retd. Joint Director Treasuries & Accounts and Chairman Eramo Okho (Senior Citizen Forum) Wokha on pensioners Identity Cards published in the local daily paper dated the 21st April 2012.
It is very much unfortunate on your part that uptill now you fail to understand what we have already clarified in our press release published in the local daily paper dated the 15th April 2012.

Further it is very much constrain to see that instead of our clear clarifications you have repeated again the same publication. Therefore, once again we would like to request you to read very carefully our publication in the local dailies dated the 15th March as well as 15th April 2012 instead of trying to misguide and confusion the pensioners/family pensioners and also the general in public. You please try to understand this that we are issuing 2 (two) Nos. Identity Card to all the Nagaland Government employees pensioners and family pensioners with the countersignature of respective D.C. One id Identity Card for security purpose which is once issued it is for life time and need not to be renewed. The other is Identity Card ‘D’ for drawal of pension by the pensioner/family pensioners which is required to be renewed every year. This is considered necessary so as to avoid release of irregular and inadmissible pension payment. As already clarified in our previous publication in the local dailies paper that due to increasing of fake and bogus drawal of pension in the state the government of Nagaland in consultation with Nagaland Pensioners’ Association had introduced Identity Card ‘D’ for drawal of pension by the pensioners/family pensioners in order to eliminate corruption among the pensioners/family pensioners in the interest of public service.

It is also to request you to understand that NPA is a Non-political, Non-communal Welfare Association. As a matter of this fact, every now and than we the Head Quarters NPA officials use to approach the concerned authorities like Finance Department and A.G Nagaland for early release of payment such as dearness relief or any other benefit whenever it is delayed.

In this way NPA is continuously working hard for all the pensioners/ family pensioners in the state as well as outside the state. And for this we are getting full support and co-operation from all the Districts Pensioners’ Association as a good gesture. Therefore, your repeated publication hindrance or disruption of pensioners and family pensioners does not hold water. If you are still not satisfied with our clarification you are welcome to our NPA Headquarters’ office Kohima for clear understanding and spot settlement of the issue once for all.

S. Daikho
Secretary, Nagaland
