A hike by 0.34 paise a litre on July 2 pushed the price of petrol over Rs 100 in six districts in Nagaland, even as diesel price remained unchanged.
With Friday’s hike, petrol is now Rs 100 a litre in six districts in Nagaland - Tuensang, Kiphire, Noklak, Mon, Phek and Zunheboto (Satakha), while it was nearing the threshold in three others – Longleng, Mokokchung and Wokha.
This is the first hike by Oil marketing companies (OMCs) this month and fuel continues to be costliest in Tuensang with petrol retailing at Rs 100.89 a litre on July 2 while it was Rs 94.06 petrol.
Fuel is cheapest in Dimapur and petrol was going for Rs 97.77 a litre on Friday while diesel was retailing at Rs 91.30, data on the official IndiaOil One app informed.
Fuel prices increased 16 times in June while remaining unchanged for 14 days in June. It remains to be seen whether the trend continues in July.
The prices have now increased on 33 days and remained unchanged on 30 days since May 1, IANS news agency reported.
