Dimapur, November 10 (MExN): The Nagaland Pickleball Association (NPA) on November 10 announced its first-ever NPA team to represent the state at the IPA Nationals 2025, scheduled to be held from November 13 to 16 at The Sports School, Bengaluru.
In an update received here, it stated this was a historic milestone as it will be the first time Nagaland and its players compete at the national level, under the banner of the Indian Pickleball Association (IPA) which is recognized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, and the Sports Authority of India (SAI). The team will be led by Nzamo Kikon as team captain while Nathan Kaurinta Zeliang will serve as the Team Manager.
Nathan Zeliang, President of the Nagaland Pickleball Association, congratulated the players and expressed confidence that the team will represent the State with excellence and competitive spirit on the national stage, competing with some of the best athletes in the country.
‘This historic representation is not only a victory for the players but also a proud moment for Nagaland’s sports community, as pickleball continues to gain momentum and recognition across India,’ stated a press release received here.
Selected Players
In the Men’s 30+ categories, Khriemetuo Pienvu will represent the State in the Singles whereas David Murry and Tonoto Ayemi will compete in the Doubles category.
In the Men’s Open category, Zhaputso Khate will compete in the Singles, while Nzamo Kikon and Imsuren Longchar will compete in the Doubles category with Menuovi Kire as the Substitute.
