Nagaland Police announces Rs 50,000 reward for information on July 13 IED blast
Dimapur, July 17 (MExN): Nagaland Police has announced a cash reward of Rs 50,000 for "credible information" that could help investigators identify and apprehend those responsible for the improvised explosive device (IED) blast at Khopanullah, Chümoukedima 'A', on July 13.
According to a public notice issued by the Dimapur Police Commissionerate, an intensive investigation is underway to identify and arrest all persons involved in planning, facilitating, executing or otherwise aiding what it described as a "heinous terrorist act."
Among others, the reward will be granted for information leading to the identification or arrest of the perpetrators or their associates; the identification of persons involved in planning, financing, harbouring, transporting or facilitating the offence; and the recovery of explosives, explosive components, weapons, communication devices, vehicles or other incriminating material connected to the case.
The reward also covers information leading to the discovery of any hideout, safe house or logistical support network linked to the offenders.
The police requested members of the public with any information related to the case, however insignificant it may appear, to contact the investigation team at 7085055003 or 7085055011, both of which are also available on WhatsApp.
The police assured that the identity of informants would be kept strictly confidential and protected in accordance with the law. Information may also be shared anonymously.
The reward will be released only after verification that the information materially contributed to the detection of the case, recovery of evidence or apprehension of the offenders, subject to approval by the competent authority, the notice stated.
The Commissionerate appealed to citizens to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement agencies, assuring that all information received would be acted upon promptly and discreetly. The Dimapur Police Commissionerate has jurisdiction over the districts of Chümoukedima, Dimapur and Niuland.
The July 13 IED blast killed one Assam Rifles personnel and injured four others.
No arrests have been made so far, and no individual or group has claimed responsibility for the blast.
