Kiphire, March 3 (MExN): The Village Library at Seyochung has received a donation of books from the Nagaland Police under its Social Assistance Programme, strengthening efforts to upgrade educational resources in the area.

According to a press release issued by the Seyochung Village Students’ Union (SVSU), the donation was made in response to a memorandum submitted on December 29, 2025 by Longtili C. Sangtam, former President of SVSU.

In the memo addressed to the Director General of Police, Nagaland, through Disani Newmai, Additional Superintendent of Police, Kiphire, the Union sought support for integrating a Digital Library into the existing Village Library at Seyochung Village.

It highlighted the need to modernise the facility by adding new books and introducing digital learning resources such as computers and e-learning materials to improve access to quality education for students and youth in the remote areas of Kiphire district.

Following the representation, the Nagaland Police extended support by donating books to the library.

The SVSU stated that the contribution would help promote reading habits, support academic growth and encourage young people to engage in constructive and educational activities.

Sangtam also expressed gratitude to DGP Rupin Sharma, for the assistance, stating that the timely support would strengthen the library and benefit the wider community.
