Nagaland Police recruitment: Preliminary tests conclude smoothly in Zunheboto

The preliminary physical and medical tests for the Nagaland Police recruitment in Zunheboto district concluded on Friday, with a total of 1,729 candidates participating in the process.

On behalf of the recruitment rally team, Superintendent of Police and Member Secretary District Level Selection Committee (DLSC) Zunheboto, Dr Kupe Kapfo, NPS informed that the services of the Medical Department, District Sports Officer (DSO) and District Public Relations Officer (DPRO) were requisitioned to ensure the smooth conduct of the tests.

Providing a day-wise breakup, Dr Kapfo said that 502 male candidates appeared on January 7, followed by 513 candidates on January 8 and 525 male candidates on January 9. 

On the final day, January 10, a total of 189 candidates—46 male and 143 female, took part in the tests.

He further informed that candidates who qualify in the preliminary stages will appear for the written examination scheduled to be held on January 20 at the Government Higher Secondary School, Zunheboto. 

A total of 102 posts have been allocated for Zunheboto district, of which 90 are earmarked for male candidates and 12 for female candidates.

Meanwhile, Tokavi Achumi, Commandant of the 8th NAP Battalion, Naltoqa, Zunheboto, and a DLSC member, reiterated that strict transparency was maintained throughout the recruitment process. 

He said all physical events, including the bar test, high jump and long jump, were conducted under CCTV surveillance to ensure a fair and transparent selection process. The total number of candidates who have qualified will be announced in due course.

Dr Kapfo expressed appreciation to the media fraternity for their coverage of the recruitment rally and stated that all recruitment board members were present throughout the process, assuring that the selection was conducted in a free and fair manner.
