Kohima, April 13 (MExN): The Office of the Director General of Police, Nagaland, has issued a notification declaring the list of candidates shortlisted for appointment to the posts of Constables (GD) in the Police Department.
According to the notification, the shortlisted candidates have been selected district-wise in order of merit based on their performance in the Physical Efficiency Test, Written Test, and Interview/Viva voce, after qualifying the Physical and Medical Standards Tests.
The notification stated that while 1,176 posts were originally advertised, a total of 1,092 candidates have been recommended for appointment against posts allotted under the approved tribal ratio.
It further informed that the published result shall be deemed as the offer of appointment. In this regard, the period for acceptance of appointment has been reduced from 30 days to 10 days from the date of issue of the notification.
Selected candidates have been directed to report to their respective places of posting by April 24, 2026, to collect their appointment orders. They have been asked to bring their bank account passbook, PAN card, and Aadhaar card at the time of reporting.
The training is scheduled to commence from May 4 and recruits are required to report to the police training centres at Chümoukedima by May 1. The notification stated that candidates should bring necessary items required for the training period.
It added that the final inter-se seniority will be determined based on combined marks obtained in the recruitment examinations and the basic training, while the current place of posting is provisional and meant for administrative purposes.
The notification also stated that, based on a report of the District Level Scrutiny Committee, Mon district, individuals listed in Annexure-A, including candidates and impersonators, have been debarred from participating in any future recruitment conducted by the Police Department.
