Dimapur, January 23 (MExN): The Power Department, Government of Nagaland conducted an extensive and constructive orientation-cum-training for all newly recruited officers (four sub divisional officers and 35 junior engineers) under the department. 

The programme was aimed to familiarise and acquaint the recruits with the functioning and objectives of the Department, stated a press release received here. It was held from January 11 to 20. 

During the programme, Engineer-in-Chief (Power), Moa Aier encouraged the officers to be sincere and responsible in their duties to deliver quality service while also emphasising the importance of revenue collection. Chief Engineer (D&R), Tiameren Walling asked the officers to be ready to face the challenges while discharging their duties and maintain utmost integrity while handling revenue matters. The Chief Engineer (T&G), Penrithung Yanthan encouraged the officers to make good use of the programme to strengthen the Department and deliver the best service to the public.

As part of the training, the team conducted a field visit to some important Power Transmission and Generation Stations. They were also visited the working divisions to familiarise them with Operation & Maintenance and Revenue activities, the press release stated. 

On the concluding day, the newly recruited officers shared their experiences and a closing remark was delivered by the Engineer-in-Chief, Moa Aier.
