Nagaland: Power shutdowns to hit several districts from April 26

Mokokchung, April 14 (MExN): The Transmission Division Mokokchung has announced a scheduled vegetation clearance drive along 132kV and 66kV transmission lines from April 26 to May 16, during which affected areas will face daily power shutdowns from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

According to Transmission Division Mokokchung, Executive Engineer Hekaito Assumi, “this exercise is necessitated with the objective to provide stable power supply.”

As per the schedule, the 132kV Tuensang Transmission Line will be taken up from April 20 to 25, during which Tuensang Division will be fed through the 132kV Kiphire-Tuensang line. 

The 66kV Zunheboto Transmission Line will be shut down from April 27 to May 2, affecting Zunheboto District.

Between May 4 and 9, the 66kV Tuli, 66kV Naginimora, 66kV Tizit, and 66kV Mon transmission lines will be taken up simultaneously, impacting Changtongya Sub-Division, Tuli Sub-Division, Longleng, and Mon District. The final phase from May 11 to 16 will cover the 132kV Longnak Transmission Line, affecting Longnak and Mangkolemba Sub-Divisions.

The department has appealed to all residents in the affected areas to extend their cooperation and bear with the inconvenience during the shutdown periods.
