Nagaland Prayer Festival to pray for peace, prosperity

Dimapur | February 9 :  The Nagaland Baptist Churches Council (NBCC) today stated that Nagaland Prayer Festival will be held from February11 to 13 at Agri Expo Ground, 4th Mile, Dimapur.  The timings of the prayer festival will be from 4pm-7:30pm. The main speaker for the prayer festival is renowned christian speaker, motivator, Chancellor of Karunya University (Coimbatore) and co- founder & president of ‘Jesus Calls International Ministries (chennai), Dr. Paul Dhinakaran. His son Paul Dhinakaran will also address the prayer festival. Earlier Dr. Paul has also been the speaker of similar prayer festivals held in Chekiye,Dimapur(2006), Kohima(1998) and Mokokchung (1978).
Dr. Dhinakaran will also inaugurate the Nagaland Prayer Tower which is located in the 1st floor (above Axis Bank), Purana Bazar. The prayer tower will be open from 8am to 8pm, for people to come for prayer and Counseling. People can also contact the phone no (03862) 224224 from 14th February onwards for prayers. Dr. Paul and his team have so far set up 29 Jesus Calls Prayer Towers in India and abroad. The nagaland Prayer Tower will be the 30th Prayer tower.
A press conference was also organised by NBCC to brief media persons about the details of the festival, where Pastor Dohovi stated that this prayer festival was being organised to pray for the peace and prosperity of Nagaland. He said that since NBCC would be celebrating its 75th anniversary next year, the prayer festival is hoped to bring a spiritual renewal in preperation for celebrations the next year. The pastors of Dimapur area have been roped in to shoulder the responsibilities of the event. He  added that since they have been receiving calls from all over the country, the NBCC is arranging lodging for about 2000 people which will be free and will be set in the venue itself. The food is being sponsered by ‘Seeshak’, a social wing of the Jesus Calls ministry. As for transportation 17 buses have been engaged to ply around the town and the adjoining areas. The details for the pick up points will be released tomorrow.
In a correction to earlier reports, The NBCC has stated that the said sum of ten rupees which was to be collected for vehicles entering the venue has been cancelled. All transportations and registrations will be free. Rev. Dr. L Anjo Keikung appealed to all dignitaries, political leaders, Govt officials and various leaders of Baptist conventions, to attend the festival, he added that leaders have to change so that they can in turn change the community. Special VIP sittings have also been arranged for this purpose, he said. Further, Rev Wati Longkumer said that the prayer festival is open to all irrespective of creed/religion/denomination. He also said that 700 volunteers have been recruited from different churches to esnure a smooth functioning of the event.There will be 300 counsellors for people who need special prayers and councelling, a separate room has been arranged for this purpose. More than a lakh of people are expected to attend the prayer festival. The prayer festival will be telecasted live on Jesus calls International Ministry’s  website www.jesuscalls.org
