Nagaland records increase in Wholesale Price Index

The Directorate of Economics & Statistics Nagaland is releasing the Wholesale Price Index with base year 2012=100 for the quarter January-March 2025.

The Wholesale Price Index (general) for the quarter January-March 2025 stood at 166.70 indicating an increase of 66.70 percent over the base year 2012. During the period January-February 2025, the general WPI has increased by 0.78 percent whereas during the period February-March the index has decreased by-0.81 percent.

The significant decline in general WPI during February-March is mainly attributed to decline in inflation of primary articles.

Primary Articles

Wholesale Price of primary articles has increased by 68.64 percent over the base year 2012.

The monthly changes in primary articles show that during January-February 2025 the index has increased by 0.86 percent, whereas during the period February-March the index has declined by - 1 percent.

Fuel and Light

Wholesale Price Index of fuel and light stood at 156.78 indicating an increase of 56.78 percent over the base year.

Index of fuel and light during January-February 2025 has increased by 0.25 percent and further increased by 0.36 percent during February-March 2025.

Manufactured products

Wholesale Price Index of manufactured products has increased by 56.66 during the first quarter 2025 over the base year 2012.

Index of manufactured products has increased by 0.77 percent during January-February 2025 whereas the index has slightly decreased by -0.01 percent during February-March 2025.
