Nagaland registers 92 new COVID cases, 76 recoveries

A total of 92 samples out of 2,233 tested positive for COVID-19 in Nagaland on August 20, indicating a sample positivity rate of 4.12%.

According to an update from the State Health and Family Welfare department, Kohima reported the highest number of fresh positives on Friday with 39 testing positive out of 237 samples. Dimapur accounted for  21 new cases while the remaining cases were from Kiphire (1), Mokokchung (21), Mon (2), Peren (1), Phek (3), Tuensang (4) and Wokha (1). With the new cases, the State’s caseload increased to 29,482.

Meanwhile, with 76 new recoveries, the tally of recovery in the State increased to 26,991. The recoveries were reported from Dimapur (38) Kiphire (2), Kohima (23), Mokokchung (9), Peren (1) and Tuensang (3).

One more COVID-19 death was reported from Kohima on Friday, taking the death toll in the State to 595. Further, 14 more deaths have been categorized as nor-COVID related in the bulletin.

There are 1,032 active COVID-19 cases in the State at present, out of which, 77 are admitted in COVID hospitals and 856 are under home isolation.
