Nagaland reports 47 new COVID-19 cases,1 more death

Dimapur, August 24 (MExN): Nagaland’s cumulative tally of COVID-19 cases reached 29,699 with the confirmation of 47 fresh cases on Tuesday. The state also reported one fatality in Dimapur taking the COVID-19 death toll to 597.

According to the daily bulletin issued by the state Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP), the Dimapur reported 18 new cases, Kohima (13), Mokokchung (11), Phek (3), Mon (1), and Peren (1). A total of 25 new cases were detected from self tests and random tests, 14 from traced contacts, 5 from frontline workers, two from returnees/travellers and 1 from armed forces and security personnel.

On the other hand, 73 patients were said to have recovered from the infection on Tuesday out of which 26 were from Dimapur, 19 from Kohima, 12 from Mokokchung, 6 from Kiphire, 4 from Zunheboto, 3 from Mon, 2 from Peren and 1 from Tuensang. With this, the cumulative total of recoveries in the state now stands at 27,311.

As per the bulletin, there are now 888 active COVID-19 cases in Nagaland out of which 649 are in home isolation and 76 are admitted in COVID Hospitals across the state.

In terms of severity of symptoms, 696 active cases are said to be asymptomatic, 150 are mild symptomatic, 18 are moderate on oxygen, 11 are severe on oxygen, 3 are in ICU without ventilator and 10 patients are admitted in ICUs and are on ventilators.
