Nagaland School Edu ‘trying to redress’ shortage of headmasters

Kiphire, April 21 (MExN): The Nagaland Department of School Education, Director, Wonthungo Tsopoe today stated that “many government high schools are facing problem due to shortage of headmasters which the department is trying to redress at the earliest.”

Addressing the inaugural programme of Padhna Likhna Abhiyan at DC’s Conference Hall, Kiphire on April 21, Tsopoe said the department has invited teachers to the programme as they play an important role in transforming the society and can execute the program effectively.

Delivering the keynote address, a DIPR report stated that the Director urged the teachers to be dedicated and sincere in their duties in order to give quality education to children and asked the teachers to update oneself. He also encouraged the church, village councils and village education committees to assist the teachers in educating children. 

SDO (C), Kiphire, James Khulu Tikhir in his short speech said that the purpose of the program is to achieve total literacy by 2030. He said that through collective effort the target can be achieved and teachers can play an important role for transforming society.

The programme was chaired by LDA DEO Office, Bovika A, welcome address was delivered by AEO, Wobenthung Lotha. Vote of thanks was delivered by Supervisor, SE, A Rankhaba and the program was attended by three blocks, namely, Pungro, Longmatra and Khongsa.
