Kohima, May 19 (MExN): The State Election Commission (SEC), exercising powers under the Nagaland Municipal Act, 2023 and the Nagaland Municipal Election Rules, 2023, has designated the deputy commissioners of Chümoukedima, Wokha and Zunheboto as “Revising Authorities” for their respective districts in connection with the ongoing municipal bye-elections.
According to the notification, the designated deputy commissioners will dispose of revision applications received during the scrutiny of nominations for Ward 11 (Chaara) of the Chümoukedima Town Council, Ward No. 8 (Tsumang ‘B’) of the Wokha Town Council and Ward No. 9 (Samba Ghoki) of the Atoizu Town Council.
The SEC stated that the revising authorities would hear and dispose of applications received under sub-rule (6) of Rule 27 in the manner prescribed under sub-rule (7) of the Nagaland Municipal Election Rules, 2023.
The applications are to be disposed of on or before the date specified in the election programme notified by the commission on May 15, 2026, the notification added.
