DIMAPUR, JULY 15 (MExN): The 20th Nagaland State Chess Championship 2024 is set to take place from July 30 to August 1 at the Nagaland Olympic Association office complex in Kohima. Organized by the Nagaland Chess Association, the tournament invites eligible players from Nagaland to participate.
To qualify, players must be registered with the All India Chess Federation (AICF) for the year 2024-25. Registration is required to be completed online through the AICF portal at https://prs.aicf.in/. The deadline for registration is July 28 at 4:00 PM.
The entry fee for the championship is Rs. 1,000 for the Open Category, while the fee is Rs. 500 for participants in the Under-18 and Under-14 categories. Players can make their payments via Google Pay to the number 9612850056. After payment, receipts must be sent via WhatsApp to Bovito Yeputho, Joint Secretary of the Nagaland Chess Association, at mobile number 7005157622, informed a press release.
In the Open Category, the prizes include Rs. 30,000 for first place, Rs. 20,000 for second, and Rs. 10,000 for third. Additionally, prizes will be awarded to the top ten players. The Under-18 and Under-14 categories will also offer prizes, with first place receiving Rs. 5,000, second place Rs. 3,000, and so on. Special prizes will be awarded for the best female participant, the best player aged 60 and above, and the best player below seven years.
