Nagaland: State Hub for Empowerment of Women conducts state level training

SANKALP State Hub for Empowerment of Women, Mission Shakti under the Department of Social Welfare conducted a one-day State level training in Kohima on April 16.

•    Child Helpline catered to over 200 cases in last 6 months
•    Women Helpline catered to about 80 cases in last 1 year

Kohima, April 16 (MExN): SANKALP State Hub for Empowerment of Women (SHEW), Mission Shakti under the Department of Social Welfare conducted a one-day State level training for the personnel under Women and Child Development (WCD) Control Room, comprising the 181-Women Helpline and 1098-Child Helpline, at Mission Shakti Office, Kohima on April 16. 

Detailed deliberations were held on the nature of cases received, stated a press release received here. Child Helpline has catered to over 200 cases in the last six months, and the Women Helpline has catered to about 80 cases in the last one year.

Martha R Ritse, IAS, Secretary, Social Welfare, chaired the review meeting on the functioning of WCD Control Room. Bodeno S Colo, Additional Secretary, Social Welfare also addressed the meeting. Standard Operating Procedures, Constitutional and Legal Provisions for Women and Children, and welfare schemes under the Government of India were presented by the state team of Mission Vatsalya and SHEW, Mission Shakti.

Other resource persons in the technical session from the Department of Social Welfare were Apila Sangtam, Legal Consultant, and Sorenthung Kikon, Deputy Director.
