KOHIMA, AUGUST 26 (MExN): The Nagaland Department of Social Welfare announced a state-wide comprehensive performance assessment of all Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) due to concerns over “low enrolment and underperformance.”
According to a DIPR report, the decision, prompted by data from the Poshan Tracker App integrated with a Facial Recognition System, aims to identify and address inefficiencies in the flagship nutrition programme.
Based on the findings, underperforming AWCs will be rationalized and relocated to uncovered areas that meet the prescribed eligibility criteria, it stated.
The department has requested community leaders and local authorities to extend full cooperation during the assessment process. It also sought support for the Aadhaar enrolment and updation drive to ensure Anganwadi services reach all eligible beneficiaries.
