Nagaland to hold Child Aadhaar enrolment camps from August 3

Kohima, July 24 (MExN): The Directorate of Economics and Statistics (DES), Nagaland, will organise a statewide Child Aadhaar enrolment campaign for children aged up to five years from August 3 to 14, following a directive from the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).

The enrolment camps will be held at the Directorate of Economics and Statistics in Kohima and at District Economics and Statistics Offices (DESOs) across the state.

According to the department, the Aadhaar-linked birth registration initiative for children aged 0-5 years aims to ensure that every child is registered at birth and linked with Aadhaar.

It said early enrolment in the national identity system would facilitate inclusion of children in various government services and welfare schemes, besides supporting better planning and delivery of child-centric programmes.

The department has appealed to parents and legal guardians of eligible children to visit the designated enrolment centres at the Directorate in Kohima or their respective District Economics and Statistics Offices to enrol their children for Child Aadhaar.
