Nagaland to host Miss North East Beauty Pageant 2022

Nagaland will be hosting Miss North East Beauty Pageant 2022 on November 3 in Kohima at Capital Cultural Hall. It will be managed by Beauty & Aesthetic Society of Nagaland (BASN) under the banner of Northeast Beauty Pageant Organization (NBPO) and sponsored by Government of Nagaland.

A total of 15 contestants from all eight north eastern states will vie for the prestigious title. The contestants will be arriving Kohima on October 26 and will be undergoing 8 days of grooming session.

Announcing this at the press conference here today, BASN president Mele Pucho thanked Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, Government of Nagaland for sponsoring the event.

The hospitality partners will include Niathu Group, Hotels & Resorts, Niathu Resort, Hotel Vivor and Noune Resort.

Vuto Hyundai and Floyd Hyundai will jointly sponsor prize money for the winner at Rs 1.50 lakh while MLA Imkong L Imchen and Hero Anak Motors Kohima will sponsor for 1st and 2nd runners up at Rs 1 lakh and Rs 70,000 respectively. Six subtitle winners- Miss Photogenic, Miss Prefect 10, Queen of Hearts, Miss Talent, Miss Beautiful Skin and Miss Multimedia will get Rs 20,000 each.

“The activities for the contestants will be mainly focus on showcasing our rich culture. We also want them experience our traditions,” Pucho said. BASN will also take the contestants to several places including Pfutsero in Phek district to interact with the villagers as well to experience the village life.

“We will let them taste our Naga traditional food as well,” he said. We also plan to take them around to visit places like Khonoma village and 2nd World War Cemetery in Kohima and other locations,” he said.

One of the main activities we have planned for them is the charity event in the main town, outside the post office to raise funds to help the less privilege children, he said. He said that one important and very interesting part of the event will be the ethnic wear round where all the states will be showcasing their rich traditional dresses.

Dr Sagar J Abichandani will be the chief judge. He is a Celebrity Dentist & a well-known Pageant Smile Expert including Femina Miss India.

The entry tickets at Rs 1000 and Rs 500, which will be available at the venue itself and one can also get the same at Symphony Café, Kohima.
