New Delhi, October 23 (MExN): Nagaland Tourism & Higher Education Minister Temjen Imna Along called on Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Dr Jitendra Singh in New Delhi on Thursday and discussed development initiatives, particularly science-led development and innovation in Nagaland.
According to an official statement, during the meeting, Along extended Diwali greetings to Dr Singh on behalf of the people of Nagaland.
The two leaders discussed various developmental issues pertaining to the state, particularly in the areas of science, technology, innovation, and administrative reforms, it said.
Dr Singh, who is MoS for Science and Technology; Earth Sciences; and Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, Department of Atomic Energy, Department of Space, Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, reaffirmed the Prime Minister’s commitment to accelerating development in the North-Eastern region through innovative solutions, youth-centric initiatives, and promotion of the startup ecosystem.
He highlighted special focus on ensuring that North-Eastern states benefit from new-age technologies and digital governance models.
Along expressed gratitude for Dr Singh’s guidance and support in advancing central projects in Nagaland.
He assured full cooperation from the state government in implementing initiatives under the Ministry of Science & Technology and related departments, aimed at promoting innovation, skill development, and entrepreneurship among the youth, the statement noted.
Referring to Dr Singh’s tenure as DoNER Minister for the North-East, Along noted that his contributions are still fondly remembered in the region.
The meeting concluded with both leaders reaffirming their shared vision of strengthening Centre–State collaboration, it added.
