
Kohima, August 25 (MExN): Nagaland Transport Department has informed that in supersession of notification dated May 6, the Transport Department has laid down the revised guidelines on issue of Permits for all Goods Transport Vehicles and Passengers Service Vehicles in the State which “shall come into immediate effect.”
The fees for permits in respect of Goods Transport Vehicles and Passenger Service Vehicles are fixed as under: Transport Vehicles- Rs 25 per mt per year; Taxi cab/Tourist Taxi - Rs 200 per year; Stage carriage/City bus/Omni Bus - Rs 320 per year.
Under the provisions of Section 69(2) of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and Rule 86 of Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, the State Transport Authority has issued the base permits and National Permits for all Goods Transport vehicles.
Further under Rules 82(1) of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, the State Transport Authority is authorized to issue base permits for all categories of Passenger Service Vehicles for the purpose of availing permits for Tourist Vehicles on the basis of which the All India Tourist Permit Authorization, Inter-State Permits, All Nagaland Tourist Taxi Permits, Inter-District Contract Carriage (Bus) Permits, shall be issued.
Provided that the applicant must first obtain an assurance certificate from the State Transport Authority for issue of the above permits, it added.
